What should I do if my child has ADHD?

Children nowadays are becoming more and more active and bold, so they always like to touch things and get into trouble. They are always busy and unable to concentrate in class. This gives many parents a headache and teachers are also very worried. Some parents will severely punish children who are always criticized, but if the child really has ADHD, this method of parents is wrong. Instead, the child’s mental health will be affected. So what should be done?

Two prominent symptoms of ADHD: excessive activity and distractibility. There are many different causes of ADHD. ADHD is a behavioral disorder, also known as mild brain dysfunction or mild brain injury. There are two possible causes of ADHD in children: internal and external factors. Internal factors include the role of genetics - because scholars have found that relatives of children with ADHD are more likely to have ADHD than people in other families. Some children also suffer from intrauterine infection, hypoxia, asphyxia at birth, etc. at birth or during their mother's pregnancy, which may cause brain damage. There are also many external factors: a bad relationship between parents, children’s learning difficulties, or excessive study pressure can all weaken the brain’s regulatory function and contribute to the occurrence and continuation of ADHD. The treatment for ADHD in children is not simply drug therapy, but includes psychotherapy, family therapy, behavioral therapy, diet therapy, traditional Chinese medicine treatment and Western medicine treatment. This is a comprehensive treatment measure, and no single method can be effective. Specific treatment should be received in a regular hospital under the guidance of a doctor.

Children with ADHD should be treated actively. Currently, the better way to treat ADHD is to adopt a pure biological and full physical therapy system (biofeedback therapy system + sensory integration training), which is green, has no side effects, and has long-lasting and stable therapeutic effects. Parents should treat children with ADHD as equal children, and should not treat them as children with ADHD. Parents should not discriminate against, blame, beat or physically punish sick children. They should help children build up self-esteem and self-confidence. We should pay more attention to children with ADHD and take them to play with other children more often.

Generally speaking, zinc deficiency or excessive lead levels in babies will cause hyperactivity in babies. It is best to check the baby's trace elements to see what the reason is. If the baby is zinc deficient, give the baby some zinc supplements and eat more foods rich in zinc and calcium. If the baby's lead levels are excessive, you can give the baby some lead-excreting medicine.

Therefore, when parents discover that their baby has ADHD, they must first educate their children in the correct way and not let their children feel that they are different from others. Therefore, comprehensive treatment should be provided through psychotherapy, family therapy, behavioral therapy, etc. It is also important to go to the hospital and listen to the doctor's guidance. So find the right way to treat ADHD.
