Effects of local anesthesia on children

Surgery requires anesthesia first, and there are two forms of anesthesia, one is local anesthesia and the other is general anesthesia. General anesthesia is very suitable for major surgeries, while local anesthesia is mostly used for minor surgeries. Children also need anesthesia when they have surgery, but local anesthesia has a great impact on children because their nervous system is not fully developed and may be harmful to the brain.

Anesthetics can be divided into two types: local anesthesia and general anesthesia. After the injection of this drug, the pain perception nerves of the body will be temporarily affected. Therefore, when the central nervous system of children is not particularly developed, too many injections of anesthetics or too large a dose will cause some damage to the central nervous system. Therefore, when children are given anesthesia, it will indeed have a certain impact on the brain, but whether this impact is temporary or permanent will be determined by the number of anesthetic injections and dosage of the individual.

During the process of local anesthesia of the body, the degree of damage to the central nervous system is not serious. Therefore, while it temporarily has an effective effect on the brain, the child only needs to pay more attention to rest and do a good job of physical conditioning to achieve a full recovery. When children are given anesthesia, whether it is general anesthesia or multiple uses of anesthesia, the central nervous system of the brain will suffer greater damage, which will easily lead to slow neurological reactions and perceptions. In some cases, excessive anesthesia may even affect the later development of the brain.

In short, when anesthesia is injected, it will directly cause relevant stimulation and damage to the central nervous system of the brain. Therefore, if the child's brain development is not perfect, if the number of anesthesia and the dosage are too many, the brain development effect will definitely be affected. And as the degree of brain damage increases, the intelligence will decline in the later stage and even cause sequelae of developmental delay.
