What causes stomach pain in children?

When it comes to stomachache, most people may think that it is a problem that only adults will have, but in fact many children are also susceptible to these adverse effects and harms of stomach diseases. So if we want to reduce these effects and harms, then we need to understand the causes of children's stomachache. Only by paying attention to these causes and understanding common sense can we better help children avoid this stomachache problem.

After 1 year old. The most common cause of stomach aches in children is a simple cold, sore throat, or the beginning of the flu, especially if there is a fever. Stomach pain is just a sign that the infectious disease has disturbed the intestines and other parts of the body. Likewise, almost any infectious disease can cause vomiting and constipation, especially at first. When a younger child is truly sick, he is likely to complain that his tummy is upset. He would often vomit after complaining.

Constipation is a common cause of abdominal pain. Constipation may be subtle, recurring, or sudden and very painful (although it may also go away suddenly). The pain is often worse after meals. Constipation may occur during the period of potty training a toddler when he is holding back stool. Older children can also become constipated when they drink less fluids or when activity causes them to "forget" to go to the bathroom.

Many different types of stomach and intestinal infections can cause stomach pain, sometimes accompanied by vomiting, sometimes with diarrhea, and sometimes both. The medical term for these is acute gastroduodenitis. They are often called "stomach flu" or "enteric flu," which means they are contagious illnesses caused by unknown viruses or bacteria. These infections often spread among several members of a family, one after another. Some of them have fever, and some do not.

Children who have problems eating often complain of stomachaches when they sit down to eat or after they have already eaten a little. Parents are likely to think that their children are faking stomachaches as an excuse for not eating. I think it's more likely that the delicate stomach is all tightened up due to the kid's nervousness at mealtime, so the stomach pain is real. The solution at this time is for parents to arrange meals in a way so that the child likes the food.

Parents need to pay attention to children's physical health issues, because we all know that children themselves do not know much about these common sense. Only when parents pay more attention and discover in time whether they are affected by these diseases can they take effective treatments as soon as possible and allow them to grow up healthily.
