What should I do if my child has pneumonia and a high fever that won't go away?

As the weather is changing rapidly now, many people do not have time to add or take off their clothes, so they are likely to have a high fever. Especially some children do not have as good resistance as adults, so they will face many diseases, and pneumonia is very likely to occur. In fact, the occurrence of pneumonia is closely related to the usual high fever, so when your child has a high fever, you must reduce the fever immediately.

1. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment:

The commonly used medicine for treating pneumonia in children is: pneumonia mixture. The prescription is: 6 grams of ephedra, 10 grams of apricot kernel, 40 grams of gypsum, 15 grams of polygonum cuspidatum, 20 grams of honeysuckle, 15 grams of isatis indigotica, 15 grams of bupleurum, 15 grams of scutellaria, 20 grams of houttuynia cordata, 15 grams of artemisia annua, 15 grams of scutellaria baicalensis, 12 grams of ophiopogon, 10 grams of earthworm, 10 grams of bombyx batryticatus, 15 grams of wild chrysanthemum, and 6 grams of licorice.

2. Western medicine treatment: There are many kinds of Western medicines generally used to treat childhood pneumonia, such as cephalexin granules, roxithromycin capsules, amoxicillin granules, etc., which have obvious therapeutic effects on childhood pneumonia.

The room temperature should be kept at around 20℃ and the relative humidity at 55-65% to prevent respiratory secretions from drying out and becoming difficult to cough out. In winter, you should open windows regularly for ventilation, 30 minutes each time, 3 times a day, avoid convection wind, pay attention to rest, implement strict respiratory isolation system, and prevent cross infection. Closely observe changes in the condition and provide appropriate treatment in a timely manner.

When treating high fever caused by pneumonia in children, you must first look at the cause. If the fever is above 38.5 degrees, please immediately ask a doctor to confirm whether it is a viral infection or a bacterial infection. If it is a viral infection, use antiviral drugs (such as ribavirin); if it is a bacterial infection, use antibiotics (such as cephalosporins). Do not rush to reduce the fever, as the fever is only a symptom and the cause must be found out.

The most common type of pneumonia in babies, aspiration pneumonia, takes a long time to fully recover, usually taking about ten days. Guidance: 1. The current symptoms require a reexamination to rule out congenital laryngeal stridor, etc.

It is very common for children to get pneumonia. Generally, they are treated with a combination of Chinese and Western medicine methods. If they are only treated with antibiotics, it is likely that the children's immune system will be weakened and some toxic side effects will occur. In this case, their bodies can be regulated through Chinese medicine, but the most important thing is to relieve the high fever.
