Baby likes to lie on his tummy

When adults sleep, they choose to lie flat or sleep on their sides, which is very different from the sleeping position of babies - babies like to sleep on their stomachs. Even if the mother corrects it, it has no effect. Why do babies like to sleep on their stomachs? In fact, this has a lot to do with the baby's posture in the mother's belly during fetal development. This will make them feel safe and they will lie flat when they grow up.

1. Lack of security

Sleeping on your stomach can make your baby feel like he is in his mother's belly, giving him a sense of psychological security. Another reason is that because all the baby's sensitive organs are in the front of the body, the baby lying on the bed forms a safe area to prevent sensitive organs from being harmed. However, when the baby sleeps on his stomach, pay attention to whether there is any foreign object on the child's neck or whether the neck is twisted to avoid blocking the child's airway and causing the risk of suffocation.

2. Lack of trace elements

Lack of trace elements will make the baby sleep uneasily, because the decrease in blood calcium causes excitement of the brain and autonomic nerves. When your baby has difficulty falling asleep, he may lie on the bed, waiting for sleepiness to come. When you notice it, you may see your baby sleeping in this position. Therefore, you should replenish the trace elements in your baby's body in time to avoid harm to the baby's physical growth. However, don't over-supplement, as too many trace elements can also be harmful.

3. The temperature is not suitable

When the temperature is too cold, babies will choose to sleep on their stomachs in bed, because this will reduce the degree of heat dissipation and keep the body warm enough to keep out the cold. When mothers find their children sleeping on their stomachs, they should not forget to feel the temperature around them. If the temperature is not high, they should not forget to raise the temperature or cover the child with a quilt to avoid making the child sick due to low temperature.

4. Indigestion

When a child feels uncomfortable due to indigestion, he will sleep on his stomach because this will reduce the feeling of bloating. It seems that the baby is quite smart and knows how to find a comfortable position for himself to relieve discomfort. However, it is still recommended that an adult supervise the baby when the baby sleeps on his stomach to prevent the baby from falling off the bed in excitement when waking up, or accidentally covering the nose and mouth and inhibiting breathing.
