Why does my baby sweat when he has a cold?

In life, it is very common for babies to catch colds. Because babies have low resistance, many babies are easily infected by various colds when they are young. In particular, some mothers take their babies to some public places. Generally, public places are crowded with people and have more bacteria, which is the easiest place for babies to be infected with germs. It is very likely to cause babies to catch colds. So why do babies sweat when they catch colds?

Colds are one of the most common respiratory diseases. There are many kinds of medicines used to treat colds. Because Chinese patent medicines have the characteristics of few side effects and good efficacy, they are very popular among people. However, clinical practice has shown that if Chinese patent medicines are not selected properly, they may also delay the onset of the disease. Traditional Chinese medicine divides colds into four types: wind-cold type colds, wind-heat type colds, summer-heat type colds and seasonal colds (influenza). According to the principle of syndrome differentiation and treatment, different types of colds should be treated with different Chinese patent medicines.

Generally, if the baby's fever is below 38.5℃, no antipyretic treatment is needed, and physical cooling should be used; if it is above 38.5℃, appropriate antipyretic measures should be taken with appropriate drugs.

Physical cooling: Warm water bath, use a towel dipped in warm water (the water temperature should not be too hot) and wipe the neck, armpits, and thigh roots for 5 to 10 minutes. You can also use a commercially available "fever patch" (or a household ice pack) on the forehead to help dissipate heat and cool down.

Drug cooling: When the above measures are not effective, oral antipyretics can be used. Suggestions:

2. Drink plenty of water and eat liquid food, such as watermelon juice, to ensure that the body has enough energy and water.

3. Ventilate more, pay attention to heat dissipation, wear loose clothes, and avoid wrapping yourself with a quilt. In summer, you can use air conditioning, control the room temperature at around 27°C, and open windows regularly for ventilation to allow air convection in the room.

4. Get more sleep. Ensuring adequate sleep is beneficial to recovery from illness. Antipyretics, such as Tylenol and Anesthesia drops, should be used only after the body temperature reaches 39 degrees. However, physical cooling methods should be used first when infants and young children under 3 years old have a high fever. Generally, antipyretic injections and antipyretic drugs are not used to avoid collapse and drug toxicity. Other drugs should also be used with caution. Regardless of whether the fever is reduced, parents should take their children to find out the cause of the fever as much as possible. Forced cooling is unscientific.
