Baby's runny nose turns from clear to yellow

Changes in weather often cause our babies to catch colds, and colds are often accompanied by coughs and runny noses. This is the problem that our mothers are most worried about, because a baby's runny nose is not only unsightly, but can also cause rhinitis in the baby. This requires our mothers to learn more about some common treatments. When the color of your baby's runny nose changes from clear to yellow, it means that the cold is getting worse. As a mother, you should pay attention to it and seek timely treatment.

Why does my baby's runny nose change from clear to thick and yellow?

1. Baby's runny nose. Because the weather is hot and cold, many children have runny noses and headaches. You may think it is a minor cold, but in fact it may not be that simple. Doctors say that as the temperature rises, bacteria and viruses are very active, and it is also a time when the human body's resistance and immunity are low, so the nose is prone to infection. This type of nasal headache caused by sinus and rhinitis diseases is now at its peak.

2. When this season arrives, especially when the haze is more serious, symptoms of sneezing and runny nose will be more common. Since allergic rhinitis is also accompanied by symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose, which are somewhat similar to a cold, some people confuse the two diseases.

Causes of runny nose

1. When a baby has a runny nose due to a cold, the discharge may be clear watery or mucous in the early stages, and pus may appear in the later stages of the cold. In chronic rhinitis, the nasal discharge is mostly mucous. The amount can be more or less. Allergic rhinitis is characterized by clear watery nasal discharge in large quantities, accompanied by sneezing and nasal itching. It can occur year-round or seasonally. Patients with allergic rhinitis may have asthma, especially children.

2. Chronic sinusitis, mostly with mucopurulent secretions, bilateral or unilateral, accompanied by nasal congestion, dizziness, memory loss, etc. Unilateral sinusitis should be considered odontogenic sinusitis. Nasal polyps can also cause clear watery nasal discharge, which can be accompanied by purulent nasal discharge when infected. Nasal congestion, dizziness, memory loss, etc. may also occur.

If the baby has no other reasons for discomfort and just has a runny nose, you should be more strict with the baby's food, clothing, housing and transportation. The baby does not have any discomfort symptoms. Do not feed the baby anything carelessly. The normal three meals a day are fine, and you can add snacks in the morning and afternoon. Understanding your baby's physique is also a very important factor.
