Do children need to take a bath every day?

As winter approaches, the weather is getting colder and drier, and parents begin to worry: in this dry climate, the baby's skin will also be affected and suffer from dehydration. So, do children need to take a bath every day? In fact, except for summer, babies do not need to take a bath every day in winter and autumn. Even adults will take fewer baths after autumn.

Do babies need to be bathed every day?

When bathing your baby, pay attention to keeping him warm and safe. It is best to bathe with clean water, and each bath should not exceed 10 minutes.

To relieve your baby's dry skin, you can add some moisturizing baby wash to his bath water. This body wash can make the skin softer and smoother and help your baby's skin lock in moisture. Not only that, it can also moisturize dry skin and relieve skin flaking, cracking and itching.

Babies' skin is different from adults'. Their skin is thinner and more delicate. Bathing them every day can indeed keep them clean, but it may also cause dry skin. Especially for children with dry skin, soaking in water every day may cause the skin to become dehydrated, drier, and even peeling. If you bathe your child for too long, the outermost stratum corneum of the skin will absorb water and become soft, reducing the skin's resistance.

In addition, you don’t have to use shower gel every time you bathe your child. Just wash with clean water.

There is a layer of oil on the outside of children's skin, which plays an important role in keeping the skin moisturized, reducing external irritation and keeping warm. Many shower gels are alkaline, which will destroy this layer of oil and easily make the skin dry and rough. Repeatedly rubbing the body with shower gel may cause sensitive skin in severe cases.

Do children need to take a bath every day? This is not necessary. Therefore, if the child is not too dirty, there is no need to wash him/her every day. It can be washed every one or two days depending on the specific situation. Bath gel can be used once a week. If you need to take a shower every day when the weather is hot, just rinsing with clean water will be enough. In winter, you can just wash your child’s feet, buttocks and hands before going to bed.
