What to do if children have ringworm on their face

The problem of ringworm on children's faces may be due to our own contact with some infectious source, which leads to skin diseases ourselves. Especially in summer, bacteria are very easy to spread through pollen. We must take relevant protective measures in our daily life to ensure that our skin is clean, dry and hygienic. Let's learn about what to do if children have ringworm on their faces.

1. Local treatment: It is the first choice. Commonly used imidazole drugs include 1% bifonazole, 2% miconazole, 1-3% clotrimazole, 2% ketoconazole, 1% econazole, 2% sertaconazole, etc.; allylamine drugs include 1% naftifine, 1% terbinafine or 1% butenafine preparations; others include 2.5% amorolfine, 1% ciclopirox olamine, 2% liranafthate, etc. Different dosage forms are selected according to different clinical types. It is applied externally 1-2 times a day for 4-6 weeks. For keratotic tinea pedis and tinea manuum, a keratolytic agent such as urea, salicylic acid or lactic acid preparations may be added.

2. Systemic treatment: For patients with keratotic tinea pedis or severe interdigital tinea pedis, those with poor compliance with topical medications, and those who require oral medications, oral antifungal drugs can be used for treatment if there are no contraindications. Itraconazole 200 mg, twice a day, for 1 week; 5 mg/kg.d for children. Terbinafine 250 mg/d, course of treatment 2 weeks; children weighing 40 kg, 250 mg per day. Fluconazole 150-200 mg/time, once a week for 4-6 weeks; 6 mg/kg.w for children.

3. Combination therapy: In order to improve the efficacy and reduce the recurrence rate, different types of antifungal drugs can be used in combination, either local and local or local and systemic combined treatment.

4. Secondary bacterial infection of tinea pedis: The treatment principle is antibacterial treatment first, then antifungal treatment. First apply 1:2000 microfold alkali solution or Chinese medicine preparation for wet compress or washing, and then apply ethacridine paste, etc. Wait until the bacterial infection is controlled before applying topical antifungal drugs. Oral antibiotics or antifungal drugs can also be taken at the same time.
