What are the symptoms of encephalitis in children?

Diseases like encephalitis have a very high incidence rate among children, and most importantly, their condition is relatively serious, so parents will feel very worried, fearing that something bad will happen to their children after they become ill. However, basically all parents do not know much about this disease. Today, the editor will explain in detail the specific discomfort symptoms of children's encephalitis.

The most common pathogens that cause meningitis in children are bacteria and viruses. The one caused by bacteria is called purulent meningitis, and the one caused by viruses is called serous meningitis. This classification is based on the changes in cerebrospinal fluid during meningitis: the purulent cerebrospinal fluid appears purulent, while the serous one is colorless and transparent. In addition, when observed under a microscope, the number of white blood cells contained in the cerebrospinal fluid of the two is different. If the cerebrospinal fluid is further analyzed by biochemistry, the amount of protein, sugar, and chloride contained in the two is also different, but the symptoms of the children are almost the same. The specific manifestations are mainly as follows:

Common symptoms of meningitis in children include fever (may be high or low fever), poor spirits, love of sleep, or crying, palpitations and restlessness, especially screaming with straight crying voices; older children will complain of headaches and dizziness, weak and straight eyes, vomiting, and the most significant is jet-like vomiting that goes very far; when the anterior fontanelle is not closed, it can be seen to be bulging and tense, and when the child's head is moved forward, there is a feeling of resistance in the neck, which is medically called neck stiffness. The most confusing thing is that some children with meningitis may experience respiratory or digestive symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, diarrhea and abdominal pain, so they are easily mistaken for colds or enteritis. Once coma or convulsions occur, it is already in the late stage.

After reading the above article, I believe that all parents have a new understanding of the various clinical reactions of encephalitis. Therefore, this will help prevent problems before they occur. When children have similar reactions, they can detect them in time and go to the hospital for examination and treatment, thereby minimizing the harm of the disease.
