What are the red spots around my baby's eyes?

Generally speaking, any small symptoms that appear on the baby's body require people to pay close attention, and the red spots around the baby's eyes need people to pay more attention. In fact, the reason why there are red spots around the baby's eyes is caused by some factors. So, what is the matter with the red spots around the baby's eyes?

This situation is generally not a big problem. If there are no other symptoms, it is estimated that the child has recently coughed, vomited, or cried. This is because the above actions will cause a sudden increase in venous pressure, causing small veins to rupture and bleed. Those red spots are some bleeding points. They do not fade when pressed and will disappear in a few days after the cause is eliminated.

1. If these red colors do not fade, the possibility of bleeding spots should be considered. Generally, there are two possibilities: one is simple subcutaneous bleeding spots, and the other is purpura. The latter can be divided into allergic purpura or thrombocytopenic type, etc.

2. If the bleeding spots only appear around the eyes and not in other parts of the body, it is mostly because the child is young and his capillaries are relatively fragile. When encountering factors that increase the pressure on the internal organs, the blood vessels will rupture and bleeding will occur under the skin. The triggers include crying, coughing, handstands, strenuous activities, etc.

3. If bleeding only occurs on the skin around the eyes, you generally don’t need to pay attention to it. In most cases, it can be absorbed and disappear naturally after a few months. This is not a disease.

4. Regardless of the type of bleeding spots, try to avoid strenuous exercise to prevent capillary rupture and worsening of the condition; especially those suspected of purpura must rest at home and take a leave of absence from school if necessary.

5. Do not drink alcohol, eat less hot foods such as peppers and mutton, and eat more foods rich in vitamin C such as kiwis, tomatoes, etc., which have certain therapeutic effects.

6. If the bleeding spots occur not only on the face and around the eyes, but also in many other parts of the body, you should consider hemorrhagic diseases such as purpura. In this case, you are advised to go to the dermatology department of the local hospital for an examination, four coagulation tests, and antibody tests, etc., to determine the condition and receive targeted treatment.

7. If you suspect purpura, you should see a doctor immediately. This disease can be mild or severe. Different types of purpura have different causes and treatments, and the prognosis varies greatly. For example, some allergic purpura only causes physical weakness, while some types of purpura may be life-threatening.

As mentioned above, purpura and venous rupture and bleeding can cause red spots to appear around the baby's eyes. In life, parents must pay attention to the symptoms of red spots around the baby's eyes. After finding out the corresponding causes, they should take the baby to the doctor for diagnosis and treatment according to the specific situation.
