How to treat chickenpox

How to treat chickenpox

Varicella is a relatively common disease, and children account for a large proportion of the patients. The treatment of chickenpox mostly uses a dual drug treatment method of oral and topical medications. Since it is somewhat hereditary, it also needs to be isolated. Let us take a detailed look at how chickenpox should be treated?

1. Children with chickenpox should be isolated immediately until all blisters have scabs over.

2. Clothing and utensils contaminated by the child's respiratory and rash secretions should be disinfected by exposure to the sun, boiling, ultraviolet light, etc.

3. During the epidemic period, do not take susceptible children to public places. For children with immunodeficiency, hormone or immunosuppressant treatment, intramuscular injection of human immunoglobulin, placental globulin, herpes zoster globulin, etc. can be used to prevent infection with the disease after exposure to chickenpox.

4. Keep the indoor air circulating, avoid wind and cold, and prevent re-infection with external pathogens.

5. The diet should be light and easy to digest, drink more boiled water, and you can use radish, water chestnuts, mung beans, etc. to boil water instead of tea.

6. Keep the skin clean, do not scratch it, and avoid bathing to prevent skin damage and secondary infection. If the skin is scratched, apply Indigo Powder or Scutellaria Baicalensis Ointment externally.

7. If a child who is receiving treatment with corticosteroids develops chickenpox, the dosage should be reduced or the hormone should be stopped immediately.

How should chickenpox be treated? There are still many things to pay attention to. In order to enable patients to recover quickly, this bacterial disease must be treated in a ventilated place. The diet should be as light as possible. When taking medicine, remember not to eat spicy and cold food. To avoid chickenpox infection, reduce the number of baths you take.
