How to treat congenital amblyopia in children?

Amblyopia, I believe everyone is familiar with the word. When we see people with amblyopia in daily life, it is not difficult to find that their eyes are a bit like the shape of what we commonly call crossed eyes. Of course, no one wants to suffer from amblyopia. We would rather suffer from myopia than amblyopia. But if a person suffers from congenital amblyopia, can it be cured? Or is there any medical way to cure diseases like congenital amblyopia?

Congenital amblyopia is a type of amblyopia whose cause is unclear. This type of amblyopia is collectively referred to as congenital amblyopia. During the birth process, the newborn may have retinal or optic pathway hemorrhage, which affects the normal development of visual function and causes amblyopia. Nystagmus can also be a cause of congenital amblyopia. This type of nystagmus has a small amplitude and high frequency, and is not easy to detect. The regular vibration of the eyeball can be seen through the viewing mirror. Since there are fast phases and slow phases, it is impulsive nystagmus. The treatment of congenital amblyopia is quite difficult. After correcting the refractive error, it is difficult to improve vision even after amblyopia training.

①The younger the age of early treatment of amblyopia, the better the effect. Treatment can start as early as 1-2 years old. Amblyopia before 6 years old can be easily cured to above 1.0. The above-mentioned refractory amblyopia is difficult to cure to above 1.0 if it is treated after the age of 6. Amblyopia over 12 years old is generally considered to be basically ineffective.

② Wearing glasses When amblyopia is accompanied by hyperopia, astigmatism or myopia, you should get glasses as soon as possible according to the doctor's instructions. Wearing glasses is the basis for treating amblyopia. If you don’t wear glasses when you should, the treatment effect will be poor or even ineffective, causing greater harm.

③ The combined treatment of amblyopia with amblyopia treatment device and computer software can be regarded as a kind of "visual atrophy" or "sleeping visual cells". More severe amblyopia must be treated with an amblyopia device to exercise the "atrophied" vision or wake up the "sleeping" visual cells in order to be cured. The latest modern scientific research results can be utilized to combine traditional amblyopia treatment devices with modern multimedia intelligent software. Through the combination of indirect vision enhancement (such as light brushes, afterimages, red light flashes, etc.) and direct vision enhancement (such as fine work, visual stimulation, etc.) treatment, the vision of amblyopia patients can be effectively improved.

④ Cover the healthy eye. When the visual acuity of the two eyes differs by more than 2 rows, the eye-covering treatment must be performed under the guidance of a doctor to avoid a decrease in the visual acuity of the healthy eye.

⑤ After the vision has returned to normal after consolidation treatment, visual function training such as fusion vision and stereoscopic vision should be carried out. If the treatment is interrupted at this point, your child's vision may deteriorate in the future. Visual training for children with amblyopia is a long process.

There are many treatments for amblyopia, but they don't mean they can be cured all at once. Once you get a method to treat amblyopia, you must stick to it for a long time. You can't stop or give up once there's a little relief. That's not acceptable. The most effective way is often persistence, which is something doctors cannot give you and you can only rely on yourself.
