What should young children pay attention to when swimming?

In this hot summer, babies are very uncomfortable at home. Hot weather makes babies particularly prone to prickly heat, and parents are also very worried about whether it will cause harm to their children if the air conditioner is turned on all the time. While parents were hesitating, some open-minded ones had already sent their babies to the swimming pool. The natural clean water allowed the children to cool down and learn to swim at the same time. However, what should we pay attention to when letting our babies learn to swim?

Generally speaking, it is more appropriate for babies to swim within 15 to 20 minutes. You can swim about once a week. The baby's swimming time can be increased slowly. At the beginning, it can be ten minutes, and then gradually 15 to 20 minutes. Do not exceed 20 minutes. As for the frequency, it should be about twice a week. Don’t eat too much before swimming. It would be better to have a massage after swimming. Remember to let your baby drink some water to replenish after swimming.

Swimming may cause otitis media

Many children easily choke on water when swimming. After choking, dirty water containing bacteria may be inhaled through the sinus opening and invade the sinuses. Due to local irritation and contamination, as well as obstruction of ventilation and drainage of the sinus opening, rhinitis and sinusitis may be caused. Children's Eustachian tubes are short, flat and thick. If a child suffers from rhinitis and sinusitis, bacteria will spread along the Eustachian tube to the middle ear mucosa, causing fluid accumulation and blockage in the middle ear. The inability of secretions to flow out will lead to otitis media. Otitis media is difficult to treat and can easily affect hearing.

Pink eye disease will also come to your door

Because many swimming pools do not require a health certificate for entry, there are great hidden dangers. If children swim in the same pool with people suffering from trachoma or conjunctivitis, the pathogens will be transmitted through the pool water and healthy children will suffer from such diseases. Therefore, parents can put a few drops of eye drops for their children after they finish swimming.

In addition, the doctor also said that the pool water may contain some urine, sweat, etc. The little girl's vulva is not fully developed, and her urethra is short and wide, so bacteria can easily invade. She also needs to rinse her whole body after swimming.

Dirty pool water can easily cause dermatitis

Currently, most swimming pools in the city do not change water frequently due to the high cost of changing water. A dermatologist told reporters that if the water in the swimming pool is very dirty, children are likely to develop dermatitis after swimming. Because children's skin is particularly delicate and easily invaded by viruses and bacteria, doctors recommend that in order to keep children away from dermatitis, they can rinse the whole body with running water after swimming. If you suffer from dermatitis, it is best to go to the hospital for treatment.

When we let our children go to a swimming pool, it is best to choose a formal one, because first of all, there will be a more complete security system, and we can also accompany them with more peace of mind, so that the children can learn to swim while having fun and can resist the hot weather.
