How many baby teeth do children have?

Many mothers will find that their babies are still teething when they are three or four years old, and during the teething period, the babies will show varying degrees of anxiety, and sometimes drool easily and have symptoms of getting angry. However, many mothers do not know how many deciduous teeth the baby needs to grow to be considered normal. Below, the editor will introduce the growth order of children's deciduous teeth and some discomforts during teething.

The deciduous teeth begin to erupt about half a year after birth and are all in place at around two and a half years old, with a total of 20 teeth. From the age of 7 to 12, the deciduous teeth fall out one after another; there are 28 to 32 permanent teeth, which gradually replace the deciduous teeth starting from the age of 6. By the age of 12, all the permanent teeth except the third molars (wisdom teeth) have erupted. The third molars usually erupt after the age of 20, but some people never have them erupt throughout their lives.

1.Usually, baby's deciduous teeth have a specific growth order.

The usually quiet baby suddenly becomes irritable and restless, cries non-stop, his cheeks turn red, he likes to bite hard objects or chew his fists, and he drools a lot. No matter how the mother coaxes him, it is useless. In severe cases, he may also have a low fever or diarrhea. At this time, the mother should pay attention to the baby's gums. There will usually be small protrusions or swellings where new teeth grow, which indicates that the baby is about to grow deciduous teeth.

2. How to relieve your baby’s pain

The mother washes her hands and gently massages the baby's gums back and forth with one finger. This is very effective in relieving the baby's pain.

If mom doesn't have time to do this, using teething toys or teething foods can also be helpful. Avoid using products formulated to treat toothaches on your baby; they are unsafe and usually ineffective.

3. Use of teething toys

There are many types of teething toys on the market, and those made of safe and hard rubber are very effective. There is a teething ring with water in the middle that is also very useful. It can be put in the refrigerator and cooled slightly before use. It can cool the baby's gums and relieve pain. But be careful not to freeze this teething ring to prevent it from being too hard and hurting the baby's gums. When purchasing teething toys, be careful not to include small parts that can be easily bitten off by the baby, and choose teething toys that the baby can easily grasp with both hands.

When the baby is teething, you can give him some teething sticks appropriately, which can relieve some of the discomfort in the baby's mouth during the rabbit teeth period to a certain extent, and can also improve the baby's anxious mood to a certain extent. Choosing the right molar stick is also very beneficial to the growth of teeth.
