How to deal with a child who has a fever and cold limbs?

Children have very poor physical constitutions. If parents do not pay attention to their children's care in normal times, the children will easily have a high fever. When children have a high fever, they need to take some antipyretic drugs for treatment, and the drugs must be used under the guidance of a doctor. You cannot use some drugs at will. What is the best way to deal with children's fever?

Many parents, especially grandparents of the older generation, will dress their children in more clothes or wrap them tightly with socks when their children have a fever, thinking that the fever will get better by "forcing" the sweat out. In fact, this approach is not right. Reducing clothing to dissipate heat is a physical cooling method. Of course, the premise is that you don't let your child catch a cold.

At the same time, let your child drink more water. Drinking water helps to sweat and dissipate heat, lower body temperature and replenish the water lost by the child's body. If some children do not like to drink plain water, you can let them drink some of their favorite juices, beverages, etc., which can replenish water and vitamins, or drink more soup.

Every family should have a medicine box that can be used for emergency treatment to relieve symptoms. If a child has a fever, measure the temperature every 1-2 hours. It is not advisable to use antipyretics when the child's body temperature is below 38.5℃; when the temperature exceeds 38.5℃, physical therapy such as cooling patches or ice compresses can be used to reduce the temperature.

However, when a child has a high fever convulsion, the situation is more serious. The child's eyes are staring or moving upwards, he loses consciousness, does not respond to calls, his lips, face and body are blue, and his limbs are twitching. Parents should immediately press the child's "Ren Zhong" acupoint, with strong stimulation continuing for 1-3 minutes until the child cries, and then use the above method to quickly reduce the temperature. At the same time, go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately.

Children usually have a decreased appetite after having a fever, so parents should give their children more easily digestible foods, and try to choose more fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks. When the child's body temperature drops, the condition will improve. At this time, you can choose to give your child more easily digestible dishes, or you can choose to eat more semi-liquid foods.
