How to treat flat feet in children?

Because of poor development in the mother's womb, the feet are deformed and flat feet appear. Such feet often make people unable to stand for a long time. If they stand for a long time, they will feel very tired. Therefore, when a child has flat feet, parents hope that the flat feet can be corrected through acquired treatment. So, how should children's flat feet be treated?

There is no longitudinal arch on the sole of the foot. The feet are turned outward when standing or walking, and the soles of the feet are "firmly" pressed on the ground. The feet do not get any cushioning or rest while working, resulting in discomfort in the ankles and calves.

The occurrence of flat feet is often related to genetics, but the specific cause is still not fully understood. Flat feet are divided into soft flat feet and hard flat feet. Soft flat feet can often be corrected through early manipulation, and orthopedic insoles or orthotic shoe shaping can achieve good results. Hard flatfoot lesions are more complicated and difficult to treat.

The treatment of soft flat feet should start from the age of 5 to 6 years old. Early orthopedic shoes can play a partial correction and delay the development. For children whose symptoms are milder after activity, they can recover through rest and massage. For patients whose symptoms are severe enough to affect their lives, surgical treatment is often considered. Generally speaking, patients with severe deformities who have not responded to conservative treatment for more than three years, or patients with symptomatic flat feet and pain often on the inner and outer sides of the feet, require surgical treatment.

Rigid flatfoot is a complex disease, often accompanied by calcaneal joint subluxation or dislocation, which affects people's daily life and requires surgical correction. Therefore, parents should pay attention to their children's flat feet and pay attention to correcting their children's bad living habits, especially early diagnosis and treatment of flat feet.

It can be seen from this that if early detection and early treatment are achieved, children's flat feet can be completely corrected. Therefore, this requires parents to be careful and discover some small problems of their children as early as possible, so that they can correct and treat them in time. In normal times, we should also pay attention to correcting some bad habits of children so that flat feet can be cured as soon as possible.
