Nowadays, people pay attention to eugenics and good parenting, so after pregnancy, pregnant women are generally very careful. They not only pay attention to their daily life, but also pay attention to food safety. They need to supplement nutrients, and even if they don’t like it, they will grit their teeth and eat it for the sake of their children. However, some children are still labeled by doctors as having congenital vascular malformations after birth. How should this disease be treated? The treatment of cerebral vascular malformations is first to prevent bleeding, control epilepsy and improve neurological function. For those who have already had bleeding, the treatment should focus on reducing the mortality rate and rebleeding and achieving the best possible recovery of brain tissue damage caused by bleeding. Treatment can be divided into two methods: non-surgical and surgical. 1. Non-surgical treatment Active medical treatment can be given to patients with deep vascular malformations in the brain, those with critical conditions, those for whom surgery is difficult or cannot be performed immediately. Especially for those with subarachnoid hemorrhage, they should stay in bed for at least 4 weeks. Appropriate amounts of sedatives should be used for children with mental agitation. Use mannitol, dexamethasone, etc. to control cerebral edema. Epileptic seizures are often a major clinical sign that occurs long before bleeding, and may also occur during or after bleeding. Even after surgical treatment, many children still develop epilepsy, so effective anti-epileptic treatment must be insisted on to prevent secondary brain damage. 2. Surgical treatment In recent years, with the development of anesthesia methods, surgical techniques and instruments, the surgical mortality and disability rates have been greatly reduced, and the scope of surgery has also been expanded. Currently, it is generally advocated that patients with a history of bleeding or with small lesions that are easily accessible by surgery should undergo surgical resection. Infants with cerebral arteriovenous malformations and hydrocephalus may require ventricular shunt surgery. With the current advances in medical technology, surgical treatment of congenital vascular malformations in children is very effective, and most patients can recover. Therefore, when a child is diagnosed with congenital vascular malformation, parents should not be overly pessimistic or disappointed. With active treatment, there is still great hope. |
