When the baby reaches three months old, many abnormal phenomena, such as crying at night, have basically disappeared. At this time, mothers also need to pay attention to the child's development, especially the changes in body temperature, which cannot be ignored. Only by ensuring normal body temperature and avoiding fever, there is no need to worry about health risks. So what is the normal body temperature of a three-month-old baby? There are three common places used to take body temperature, namely the mouth, armpits and anus. The normal body temperature is between 36.5℃ and 37.5℃ at the anus; between 36.2℃ and 37.3℃ at the mouth; and between 35.9℃ and 37.2℃ at the armpit. After measurement, any temperature that exceeds the normal range by more than 0.5℃ is called fever. A temperature not exceeding 38°C is called low fever, and a temperature exceeding 39°C is called high fever. Because infants have unstable temperature regulation centers and more active metabolism, their body temperature is slightly higher than that of adults. Body temperature also fluctuates during the day. It is lower when you are resting and higher when you are active. It is lowest between 2 and 6 in the morning and highest between 2 and 8 in the afternoon, with a fluctuation range of about 0.6°C. A "low" body temperature is actually normal, but the premise is that it is stable. In other words, as long as it can stabilize within this range, there is no problem. The baby's body temperature is affected by various factors inside and outside the body and will always self-regulate, but you must pay attention to keeping your child warm to prevent him from catching a cold or fever. In case of low-grade fever, use 35% alcohol for sponge bath. Alcohol can dilate blood vessels and take away a lot of heat when it evaporates, which can help cool down infants and young children when they have a fever. Prepare 100 ml of 75% alcohol, add an equal amount of warm water, and keep the temperature at around 27-37 degrees Celsius. Do not let it be too cold, otherwise it will cause muscle contraction, causing the temperature to rise again. When doing alcohol bath, use a small towel to start wiping the baby's neck, then wipe from top to bottom in a patting manner. The armpits, groin, and areas with large arteries and blood vessels on the surface of the body should be wiped until the skin turns slightly red, which will help reduce the temperature. Be careful not to rub the baby's chest, abdomen, and soles of the feet to avoid causing adverse reactions. Through the above introduction, everyone is very clear about what is a normal body temperature for a three-month-old baby. Generally, as long as you take good care of the baby's diet and daily life, there will be no fever before weaning. Of course, even if there is a fever, as long as it is a low fever, you cannot take medicine. It is good to use various physical methods to reduce fever. |
