What to do if you are allergic to milk powder

Milk powder allergy refers to the symptoms of rash on the baby's body, vomiting, resistance to drinking milk, abdominal pain and diarrhea, coughing and runny nose after the baby drinks milk made with milk powder. Some babies may also have eyelid edema and blood in the stool. Milk powder allergy is divided into two types: sudden and delayed. The sudden onset is a sudden attack within two hours after drinking. The symptoms are more serious and may even cause death. The delayed onset is relatively mild. For milk powder allergies, mothers can try the following methods.

1. Take loratadine tablets orally and apply compound cod liver oil zinc oxide ointment externally. Drink some water during the treatment and don't cover yourself too thickly. When changing milk powder, it is best to change it slowly and see if the baby can adapt to it first.

2. When changing milk powder, it is best to buy a small package to try it first. If there are no adverse reactions, you can change to a larger package. Allergy is a problem of personal constitution and generally has no direct connection with milk powder.

3. If you are allergic to milk powder, do not use this kind of milk powder in the future. The rash on the baby's face will generally subside in about 3 days. The baby's skin is relatively delicate, so it is best not to apply medicine. You can use mugwort boiled water to bathe the baby.

4. Mothers can choose deep hydrolyzed protein formula milk or free amino acid formula milk instead of ordinary milk powder. When babies show allergic symptoms, they should be treated with appropriate children's antihistamines.

Mothers can choose to feed their babies milk powder made from non-cow's milk protein, such as soy milk powder, allergy-reducing milk powder or elemental milk powder, which can alleviate the baby's allergic symptoms and will not cause diarrhea. Mothers should try to avoid feeding their babies foods rich in milk protein. If the baby's allergic symptoms do not show signs of improvement, they should seek medical attention in time to avoid worsening of the condition.
