Why does a newborn baby not sleep and always want to eat?

Many parents report the same problem, that is, newborns do not sleep and want to eat all the time. It seems that newborns have a good appetite, but this is not the case. The fact that newborns always want to eat may be related to breast milk. Generally it is because breast milk is not sufficient and the baby has difficulty feeding, so he never gets enough and always needs to eat. Therefore, many mothers who do not have enough breast milk give their children milk, which is not a correct practice. When a child drinks milk, he will produce less breast milk, and the breast milk will be even less. This cycle will repeat over and over again, and the breast milk will become less and less.

Newborns don’t like to sleep not only because of this reason, but also because of calcium deficiency. Doctors believe that children generally have poor sleep quality due to calcium deficiency, indigestion or being frightened. The most common one is calcium deficiency, which not only affects children's sleep quality, but also causes hair loss and even rickets. "In autumn and winter, children are very prone to calcium deficiency, and many children cannot sleep at night due to calcium deficiency." People do not sleep as well in spring as in autumn, and if the weather is bad, the body's absorption of calcium will be relatively poor.

For some babies who have trouble sleeping, doctors suggest that parents can try kneading the Xiaotianxin acupoint (which is what we often call the thenar intersection, at the base of the palm, at the intersection of the thenar and hypothenar), or kneading the Baihui acupoint (on the head, located at the midpoint of the tips of the two ears). These two acupoints can calm the mind.

So when you find that your newborn baby doesn’t like to sleep but keeps wanting to breastfeed, you should pay attention to these problems. You can't simply assume that the child needs to be breastfed. If the newborn does not have enough milk in the early stage, do not add milk to feed. Just breastfeed, and after a period of time, as the baby works hard to suck milk, the amount of breast milk will gradually increase. Of course, breastfeeding mothers must eat more foods that are beneficial to milk production.
