Why does my baby's buttocks hurt?

Diseases that adults are prone to may also occur in children. Places such as the anus that frequently come into contact with feces are prone to diseases. Once a child has a disease in this area, they will not be able to express themselves normally and will cry incessantly, which makes parents very worried and concerned about the causative factors. So, what is the cause of baby's anus pain? Let's take a closer look below.

Reasons for baby's anal pain: perianal abscess

Perianal abscess refers to an acute or subacute purulent infection occurring under the skin around the anus, which manifests as a red nodule in the anus. As a result, the anus is painful, especially when sitting, often causing the child to cry and be restless, and sometimes also causing fever and other systemic discomfort.

Perianal abscesses can occur at any age, especially in newborns. It is often caused by improper care of the anal area or low systemic immune function. If not treated promptly, anal fistula may form.

The second reason for baby's anal pain is anal fissure

Anal fissure refers to the cracking of the skin at the anus. Long-term constipation and dry stools are the main causes of anal fissure. In addition to anal pain, symptoms include blood dripping after defecation or blood on toilet paper. Because defecation will aggravate the pain of anal fissure, the baby is unwilling to defecate normally, which aggravates constipation and makes the stool drier and harder, resulting in aggravation of anal fissure or re-opening of the wound that has just healed. Therefore, anal fissure often recurs.

The above is an introduction to what causes pain in the baby's anus. I hope it will be helpful to parents. There are generally two main factors that cause anal pain in children. You should go to a regular hospital for diagnosis in time, adopt appropriate treatment methods, let your child drink more water, eat some fresh vegetables, increase your child's activity level appropriately, and strive to recover as soon as possible.
