Acupoint massage method for children with fever

The method of degree massage to relieve children's fever is very effective. Fever is very common in children. Fever can easily lead to more serious consequences if you fail to pay attention. Therefore, in addition to drug treatment, parents should also use degree massage to help children reduce fever. Acupoint massage is a very effective method. The following editor will introduce some methods of acupoint massage for children's fever. I hope parents can learn it.

Pediatric massage is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy and is widely used in pediatrics. It acts on specific parts of the child's body surface through some specific techniques to adjust the body's physiological and pathological states. Therefore, pediatric massage can be used to treat children's fever, diarrhea, enuresis, cough, constipation and other diseases.

Traditional Chinese medicine divides children's fever into several types according to the causes of the disease, including exogenous fever, yin deficiency fever, and fever caused by food injury.

For fever caused by exogenous wind-cold, the following four massage methods can be used to achieve the purpose of clearing the lungs, relieving exterior symptoms and reducing fever.

1. Use Qingfei Meridian (from the last segment of the ring finger to the fingertip) 300 times

Acupoint: Lung Meridian (Lung Metal)

Location: Palm of ring finger

Procedure: ① To nourish the lung meridian: rotate and push on the surface of the ring finger, see the middle picture, and nourish about 200 to 400 times.

② Clear the lung meridian: Push straight toward the direction of the finger base, see the picture on the right, clear 200 to 400 times.

Indications: fever, cough, asthma, chest tightness, sore throat, etc.

2. Qing Tianhe Water (from the middle of the inner side of the forearm to the wrist crease and push to the elbow crease) 100 times

Acupuncture point: Tianhe Water

Location: In the middle of the inner side of the forearm, in a straight line from the wrist crease to the hour crease.

Procedure: Use the index and middle fingertips to push from the wrist crease to the elbow crease.

Push about 100 to 500 times.

Indications: fever, irritability, thirst, mouth ulcers, convulsions and other fever symptoms.

3. Open the Tianmen (from the center of the child's eyebrows to the edge of the hairline) 100 times

Acupuncture point: Tianmen (Zanzhu)

Position: From the middle of the eyebrows to the front hairline in a straight line.

Procedure: Use the two thumbs to push from the center of the eyebrows upwards to the front hairline alternately, about 30 to 50 times.

Indications: cold, fever, headache, mental depression, convulsions, etc.

4. Push Kan Gong (from the center of the child's eyebrows along the eyebrow ends to the sides to the tip of the eyebrows) 100 times, and rub Taiyang (press and rub the temples behind the eyebrows) 100 times.

Acupuncture point: Sun

Location: In the depression behind the eyebrows. There is a saying that the left is the sun and the right is the moon.

Procedure: Use your thumbs or middle fingers to massage the left and right temples respectively.

Rubbing forward is for tonification, and rubbing behind the ear is for purgation. Knead 30 times.

Indications: exogenous fever, headache, dizziness.

Generally, the body temperature of such children can be lowered after one massage treatment. The temperature may fluctuate slightly in the afternoon, but the temperature will be basically controlled within the normal range after the same treatment the next day.

Clinically, most children's fevers are caused by external factors, so if the child has a low fever, you can try the above method. This is convenient and can avoid the side effects of drugs. The onset of this type of disease is relatively acute, and massage treatment is more effective. However, when parents do not find self-treatment at home to be effective, they must go to the hospital for formal treatment.

Due to the different physical constitutions of children, the changes in their diseases are more complicated, so pediatric massage must be identified and treated in combination with differences in seasons, climate and symptom manifestations. In addition, children should pay attention to adding or removing clothes as the weather changes to prevent colds and fevers. It is spring now, the weather changes greatly and the daily temperature difference is also large. Parents must add or remove clothes for their children in time to prevent colds. Pay attention to proper feeding and avoid overeating greasy food to avoid food stagnation, which may cause fever. When you have a fever, you should drink plenty of water and eat a light diet.

Generally speaking, an acute fever takes 1 to 3 days to recover. Children with long-term low-grade fever who do not respond well to medication will need a relatively longer treatment time, because the treatment of children with long-term low-grade fever generally needs to start with the root cause of the disease.

Acupressure for treating fever in children

I believe everyone has had the experience of having a high fever, with a burning forehead and dizziness. In severe cases, not only will the whole body ache, but the fever may even cause confusion and convulsions. The normal human body temperature is about 37.2℃. Unless your body temperature exceeds 38.5℃ (for adults) or 39℃ (for children), there is no need to be too nervous.

In fact, a high fever itself is not a disease, but a symptom that reminds your body that there may be an illness. In fact, heat dissipation is good for the body. This internal defense measure has the function of eliminating foreign pathogens. If the temperature does not rise too high, you may want to let it cool down naturally, which will help eliminate toxins.

Physical therapy methods:

(1) Tianheshui (key point): Chi and Luo groove. Wipe from the distal end to the proximal end with a cloth. Use warm or cold water (that is, stretch your hand straight, palm facing up, from the wrist to the groove in the middle of the elbow)

(2) Qingfei Meridian: The middle part of the ring finger of both hands. Massage both hands. Push from the proximal end to the distal end of the finger (note that this acupoint disappears when children are six years old)

(3) Open the Heaven Gate: Use your thumb to push from the Yin Tang to the hairline (until it turns red. Do not break the baby's skin). Now you know how to use acupoint massage to treat fever in children.

The above are the acupoint massage methods for young children with fever. There is no need to say more about the others. The above are very commonly used in Chinese medicine and are relatively effective. Parents can study them carefully. However, you must press the acupoints accurately and not press them randomly, otherwise it will have a very bad effect on the child. Only by finding the correct acupoints can it help reduce the child's fever. I hope the above methods can help all parents.
