Children aged 1 to 2 years old sleep 13 to 14 hours a day. Sleep 1 to 2 hours during the day. Each sleep cycle lasts about 60 minutes, with light sleep accounting for 30%. Children may start to dream at 12 to 14 months old and may cry at night, which is normal. Most children have a regular sleep schedule. You can sleep for a long time at night, but sometimes changes in life, illness, etc. disrupt your sleep pattern and cause you to wake up frequently at night. The following sleep hygiene principles are helpful in cultivating good sleep habits in young children.

1. The baby's sleeping environment must be quiet and dark, and the room temperature must not be too hot;

2. Strictly follow the time for going to bed and getting up, and strengthen the cultivation of physiological rhythm cycles;

3. Avoid hunger when lying in bed, and do not drink too much water when going to bed or at night to avoid disturbing sleep;

4. It is best for children to sleep alone in a small bed. Studies have shown that children can sleep better when sleeping alone than when sleeping with their mothers.

5. Let your child learn to fall asleep on his own. Do not hold, pat or let him fall asleep with a nipple in his mouth. Since children will wake up at night due to their sleep cycle, children who have learned to fall asleep on their own will naturally fall asleep again after waking up at night and enter the next sleep cycle. For example, if the child develops a habit of being coaxed or fed a pacifier before going to bed, he will also demand the same condition when waking up at night, and will cry when it is not met;

6. Avoid strenuous activities or playing with toys that are too exciting 1 to 2 hours before going to bed;

7. You should not sleep too little during the day.

In fact, one thing I have to say here is that the normal sleep time for a 2-year-old baby is preferably before 9 o'clock at night, which is good for the baby's growth. Of course, it is necessary to cultivate the baby's habit of sleeping well on his own. The baby is still young. As long as you persist in doing as mentioned above, I believe the baby will be able to sleep well on his own in no more than a month.
