What is the cause of intestinal prolapse in children?

Some children may suddenly feel discomfort in their lower abdomen, which may be caused by the problem of prolapse of the small intestine. Intestinal prolapse is usually caused by ascaris infection. The sudden prolapse of the small intestine caused by ascaris infection requires timely medical treatment. So what kind of situation will cause ascaris infection?

Ascaris infects and parasitizes in the intestines. When the host's body environment and intestinal function are disordered, such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, unclean diet, eating too much raw, cold and irritating food, and insufficient deworming methods and dosages of drugs, the ascaris will be irritated and become more excitable, increasing its activity in the intestines and twisting into balls, blocking the intestinal cavity and causing intestinal obstruction.

Under normal circumstances, ascaris do not form groups and mostly parasitize in the jejunum and ileum, feeding on chyme in the intestinal cavity. They are usually quiet and scattered in the intestinal cavity, living parallel to the longitudinal axis of the intestine. When certain factors stimulate the ascaris and increase its activity, and it twists into a group in the intestine, the intestinal contents can still pass around the ascaris body, so most of them are incomplete intestinal obstructions. If the obstruction time is too long, the worm group does not disperse, and the intestinal tube continues to spasm, it may become a complete intestinal obstruction. The lips and teeth on the ascaris head can directly damage the intestinal mucosa, and the metabolic toxins stimulate the intestinal wall, causing reflex spasms of the intestine. Ascaris gather in the intestinal segment and cause incomplete intestinal obstruction, the violent peristalsis of the proximal intestine can induce torsion of the intestinal loop, causing localized or diffuse peritonitis. Sometimes a section of the intestinal loop filled with ascaris can suddenly twist due to the weight of the weight, and the intestine quickly becomes necrotic, and the condition deteriorates rapidly.

Therefore, if a child has intestinal prolapse, he or she must go to the hospital for treatment in time to prevent the child's condition from worsening. If the condition worsens for a long time, it will be very detrimental to the child's physical recovery and may even be life-threatening.
