1. How to measure correctly?

There are three main ways to measure body temperature: oral measurement, underarm measurement, and rectal measurement. Be careful not to let your baby bite with his teeth. Axillary measurement: When the mercury column drops below 35 degrees, place the thermometer under your armpit. Note: Keep your arms tight. Oral measurements can be taken with the same thermometer as under the arm. Rectal measurement: When the mercury column drops below 35 degrees, apply a little oil on the mercury end of the rectal gauge and gently insert it into the anus without using force. Note: There is a special anal table for anal measurement. When measuring body temperature, remember the following points: Measure orally for three minutes and do not add or subtract the measured temperature. Measure under the armpit for five minutes and add 0.5 degrees to the measured temperature. Measure the anus for two minutes and add 0.5 degrees to the measured temperature. In addition, there is one that measures ear temperature, which is convenient and easy to use, only takes one second, and no addition or subtraction is required. 2. What should you pay attention to when measuring body temperature?

Many mothers, before taking their baby’s temperature, would wonder what to do if the baby keeps moving while taking the temperature? What should I do if my baby resists the thermometer? As the saying goes, children don't hide their illnesses. Therefore, for babies, even if they have a cold and their temperature is a little high, if the baby is still energetic and lively, there is basically no need to measure the temperature. When a baby starts to become listless or even just wants to be held, it proves that he is really feeling unwell. At this time, when you take his temperature, he will cooperate very well, or he simply has no mood or extra energy to be naughty. Even so, for safety reasons, it is best to choose a non-mercury thermometer when measuring the baby's temperature. It is best to place the thermometer under the armpit rather than in the mouth or anus. Although the measurement results under the armpit are not more intuitive than those measured by mouth or anus, they are easier to control and relatively safe. If conditions limit the use of a mercury thermometer to measure the baby's temperature, an adult must be on hand to watch over the baby during the measurement. If the thermometer accidentally breaks, it must be disposed of in a timely manner. No matter which thermometer you use, always store it properly when not in use.
