What to do if your child has a fever and sweats

The normal body temperature of a child does not exceed 36 degrees. Careful mothers will observe that the child's face is sometimes red, which means that the child has symptoms of fever. Often kicking off the quilt at night and not paying attention to keeping warm after taking a bath may cause the child to have a fever. The child's immunity is reduced after the fever. The child will continue to take medicine and see a doctor, which makes the child's body unable to bear it. In the following article, the editor will introduce how we should deal with children with fever and sweating?

Baby has a fever

The normal basal body temperature of children is 36.9℃~37.5℃. Generally, when the body temperature exceeds the basal body temperature by more than 1°C, it is considered a fever. Among them, low fever refers to body temperature fluctuating around 38°C, and high fever refers to body temperature above 39°C. Continuous fever for more than two weeks is called long-term fever.

The above-mentioned basal body temperature refers to the rectal temperature, which is measured from the anus. Generally, the oral temperature is 0.3℃~0.5℃ lower than it, and the armpit and neck temperature is 0.3℃~0.5℃ lower than the oral temperature.

My principle is that if the temperature is below 38.5 degrees, do not take antipyretics or fever-reducing injections, and let the baby drink more water. Pay attention to whether the ambient temperature is too high. In the hot summer, the temperature is very high and the baby's ability to regulate its own body temperature is poor. When the mother holds the baby, the heat is not easy to dissipate, causing the body temperature to rise. However, this kind of fever usually does not last too long. Put the child in a cool place, fan him slightly, give him some cool fruit juice, or give him a warm bath, and the body temperature will return to normal after a few hours. In winter, if the indoor temperature is too high and the baby is wrapped too much, the baby's body temperature will also rise.

If the fever is above 38.5 degrees, please ask a doctor immediately to confirm whether it is a viral infection or a bacterial infection. If it is a viral infection, use antiviral drugs (such as ribavirin); if it is a bacterial infection, use antibiotics (such as cephalosporins). Do not rush to reduce the fever. The fever is only a symptom and the cause of the disease must be found out.

Another thing I want to say is don’t be superstitious about intravenous infusion. The doctor said that if you can take medicine, don't get an injection, and if you can get an injection, don't get an infusion. The key is to use the right medicine, not strong medicine.

Does your baby have a fever?

Whether the baby has a fever or not, roughly speaking, if the body temperature measured by an ear thermometer is higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius, it means that the baby is unwell. At this time, parents must pay attention to whether the baby has any symptoms; if the body temperature reaches above 38 degrees, it means that the baby really has a fever.

Many parents will send their children to the hospital for intravenous drips immediately after they find that their children have a fever. This is often incorrect. Intravenous drips are often dependent on intravenous drips and must be treated with intravenous drips every time they have a fever. It is very good for children to sweat when they have a fever. We can let children reduce their fever by sweating.
