Moxibustion for children with cold

Moxibustion is a treasure of traditional Chinese medicine. It plays a certain role in regulating the body and treating diseases. For children, if they have a cold, they can also relieve it through moxibustion. It can have the effect of eliminating colds. Of course, you must also understand some precautions when performing moxibustion. The time during moxibustion should not be too long. Let's take a look at this aspect.

Moxibustion for children with cold

Children's cold is a pediatric disease that parents often encounter, and it is also the most worrying disease for parents in life. When children catch a cold, they usually suffer from high fever, cough, nasal congestion and headache. Many times, medicine and injections are ineffective, and sometimes it takes six or seven days of intravenous drip to see improvement. Faced with their children's suffering, parents often feel helpless. Moxibustion has a good therapeutic effect on children's colds. In many cases, the symptoms of colds can be eliminated in a day or two. Parents who master the method of moxibustion will help their children solve their pain in a timely manner.

After a child catches a cold, parents can use a moxibustion box to help the child with moxibustion. Only two acupoints are used, one is at Shenque, which is the navel, and the other is at Dazhui, under the protruding big joint at the back of the child's neck. After lighting the moxa in the moxibustion box, place one moxibustion box on the child's navel and the other moxibustion box on the child's Dazhui acupoint. Fix them with elastic bands so as not to affect the child's activities. Generally, one moxibustion session lasts half an hour to an hour. After one moxibustion session, you can proceed with a second moxibustion session. Generally speaking, after two treatments of moxibustion, the child will sweat and the fever will go down. If the high temperature does not go down, moxibustion can be performed again, three to four times a day, and the time can be continuous for two to three hours.

Since children are in a critical period of growth and development, it is generally not recommended to use antibiotics or other drugs with side effects after a cold. Moxibustion regulates the balance of the body system by opening up the meridians and stimulates the child's self-recovery ability, so it has no side effects. After parents and friends master it, they can not only treat the disease in time when the child has a cold, but also enhance the child's resistance in normal times. It is indeed a good helper for parents.

What to do if your baby has a cold

1. Nasal congestion caused by cold: manifested as nasal congestion, runny nose, and sometimes accompanied by fever symptoms. In such a situation, you should first pay attention to keeping warm. In addition, you can use a warm, wet towel to apply heat to the baby's nose (not too hot), twice a day, each time for about 15 minutes.

2. Nasal congestion caused by acute sinusitis: Repeated upper respiratory tract infections in babies can affect the sinus mucosa, causing congestion and swelling, increased secretions, and causing acute sinusitis. In addition to nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and mouth breathing, more serious symptoms include fever, headache, sore throat, and irritability. If your baby has a cold, parents should first actively seek treatment. Take your baby to see an ENT doctor in time, and choose antibiotics reasonably under the doctor's guidance to completely cure the disease and prevent recurrence.
