How to deal with baby’s fever?

Because the baby has just been separated from the mother's body, his own immunity is relatively low, and he is easily affected by external stimuli, which may cause the child to have fever, crying, sore throat and other symptoms. This makes parents very anxious, but it is incorrect to seek medical treatment in a hurry. First of all, the cause of the child's fever must be clarified, and physical cooling measures must be given to the child in time to avoid high fever causing serious physical illness in the child.

What mothers fear most is that their babies will get sick. The baby's body is very sensitive and its resistance is not strong enough. If you don't pay attention, it will cause a cold and fever. When it comes to dealing with a baby’s fever, mothers must be prepared with a few tricks and not panic.

The normal body temperature of a baby is between 36.5 degrees and 37.5 degrees. If you think your baby has a fever, the first thing you should do is to take his temperature!

Babies are prone to crying when they have a fever. Using a thermometer with a pacifier is the easiest way to measure a baby's temperature and it is also the most comfortable way for the baby. Place the pacifier in your baby's mouth for about 3 minutes to allow the thermometer to warm. Press the switch button to turn on the thermometer and keep the pacifier in the baby's mouth until a prompt sound is heard. The baby's body temperature will be displayed on the screen.

If your baby has just had a hot or cold drink, the pacifier thermometer may not be accurate. At this time, you can use a digital thermometer to measure the temperature.

Depending on the baby's condition, mothers can choose to use rectal temperature measurement, which is more accurate. Turn on the thermometer, lubricate the tip with water-soluble paste, and spread your baby's buttocks apart with one hand. Use your other hand to gently slide the tip of the thermometer no more than 12 mm into the rectum. The thermometer will make a sound to indicate that it is inserted properly. Then take out the thermometer and read the degree.

If the baby has a fever, mothers should give the baby a body massage in time to soothe the baby's emotions and promote blood circulation. Parents should observe the child's mental state, because the baby is in the stage of physical development. Appropriate fever can also exercise the child's immunity. When the high fever persists, seek medical attention in time for diagnosis and treatment.
