Normal height and weight range for seven-year-old babies

The significance of children to a family is self-evident. They are not only the bond of family affection, but also the continuation of the family. Therefore, more and more parents attach great importance to the physical health of their children. However, some parents may be confused. Why do children of the same age have such a big difference in height and weight? So what is the normal height and weight of a 7-year-old child?

Child height can predict adult height.

1. Male height = height at birth (cm) ÷ 0.2949; Female height = height at birth (cm) ÷ 0.3109. Please note when using this formula: it is only applicable to normal full-term newborns; if the height data can be measured accurately to 0.1 cm, the height prediction will be more accurate.

2. Male height = height at 3 years old × 0.545 + average height of parents × 0.544 + 37.69 (cm); Female height = height at 3 years old × 0.545 + average height of parents × 0.544 + 25.63 (cm), standard height prediction formula (genetic law)

Male height = (father's height + mother's height) × 1.08 ÷ 2 (cm)

Female height = (father's height × 0.923 + mother's height) ÷ 2 (cm)

The above formula generally conforms to the genetic principle of "tall plus tall produces tall, tall plus dwarf produces tall, dwarf plus dwarf produces short".

Bone age can reveal a child's growth potential

Bone age and age are not the same thing. Bone age is biological age, which is closely related to growth and is often used to evaluate the maturity of human growth and development. Bone age is mainly determined by X-rays. An X-ray of the child's right wrist bone is taken. The child's growth potential can be determined based on the number of ossification points shown on the wrist bone X-ray and the child's actual age. If ossification points appear earlier than the actual age, it means that the child has a smaller growth potential; on the contrary, it means that the child has a great growth potential. In order to make their children grow taller, some parents give their children growth-promoting drugs. Although this temporarily speeds up the growth of the children, it affects their final height because the "brake" time comes earlier. This practice is obviously not advisable.

The above methods can be referenced with each other, and can also predict whether the child's growth and development is normal and the child's growth potential. If it is found that the bone age does not match the child's actual age, you should go to the hospital for examination.

This is the end of the article. I hope it can be helpful to you. At the same time, I would like to remind all parents and friends to learn more relevant knowledge to better help their children grow.
