Precautions for preventing aortic valve calcification

Precautions for preventing aortic valve calcification

Do you know about aortic valve calcification? Generally speaking, this disease has no obvious symptoms in the early stages and can occur in people of any age. Therefore, knowing the relevant knowledge about the disease in advance can better prevent the disease or detect it early, and timely treatment can minimize the harm caused by the disease to the body. So, what is aortic valve calcification? What are the preventive measures that need to be taken for this disease?

Aortic valve calcification is a congenital aortic valve disease that may have no obvious symptoms in early childhood. Common symptoms of aortic valve disease are palpitations, shortness of breath and angina pectoris after exertion. In cases of severe aortic stenosis or aortic regurgitation, angina pectoris is particularly severe due to severe insufficiency of coronary artery blood supply.

Causes of aortic valve calcification

It is due to congenital aortic valve disease that causes aortic valve leaflet prolapse and aortic valve insufficiency. This deformity often occurs in the case of a larger high ventricular septal defect or aortic valve sinus aneurysm rupturing into the right ventricle. In addition, you need to pay attention to the following reasons!

Precautionary Note 1:

The cause of aortic valve calcification is that the aortic valve is severely incomplete, the pulse pressure of the peripheral arteries is significantly widened, and in hemodynamics, the left ventricle has a severe volume load. Therefore, the left ventricle enlarges to the left, downward, and backward, the left ventricular cavity is significantly enlarged, and the aortic valve has severe regurgitation. This is caused by the contrast agent flowing back and forth in the left ventricle and ascending aorta, where it stays for a long time and cannot be emptied quickly!

Precaution 2:

When aortic valve calcification is severe, left anterior branch block and other degrees of atrioventricular or bundle branch block may be seen. Valvular calcification is one of the main causes of aortic stenosis and is common in the elderly.

Precautionary Note 3:

Aortic valve degeneration changes the aortic valve leaflets into a myxoid state, with thin and translucent tissue, unable to withstand the diastolic pressure in the aorta and resulting in insufficiency. It is commonly seen in syphilitic aortitis, Marfan's syndrome, necrosis of the aortic media and ascending aortic aneurysms caused by other reasons!

Precautions 4:

Aortic valve calcification occurs when a large, high-position ventricular septum is damaged, and the corresponding valve leaflets above it lose support from the ventricular septum. During ventricular diastole, the valve leaflets prolapse into the right ventricle through the ventricular septum. In the case of ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm, the corresponding aortic valve leaflet prolapses into the left ventricle!

It can be seen from this that aortic valve calcification is a relatively serious disease. If you know nothing about aortic valve calcification disease, then you will not be aware of the symptoms when they appear, which may easily lead to missing the best treatment period for the disease. Through understanding the above content, I hope to help more friends stay away from aortic valve calcification disease.
