Reasons why 1-year-old babies are restless when sleeping

Parents will find that many babies are always affected when they sleep at night. At first, they keep crying and then start to move around. Some children even refuse to sleep at night. This makes parents very tired. They have to go to work during the day and take care of the children at night. They are already exhausted. Why are babies unable to sleep well?

If babies wake up easily during sleep at night, excluding the causes of abnormal sleeping environment and physical factors, it is generally related to the imperfect development of the baby's nervous system. Their sleep is mainly light sleep. During light sleep, they open their eyes, suck, turn over, cry, and some even look up, but most of these movements are meaningless, and there is no light even if they open their eyes. Adults may mistakenly think that the baby does not sleep well, and they may pick up the baby to coax him to sleep or feed him, which interrupts the baby's light sleep period. If this is done many times, it will cause the baby to develop a bad sleeping habit. Therefore, when the baby shows various movements and sounds during light sleep, parents can wait quietly for more than 5 minutes before paying attention to him, allowing him to adjust himself into deep sleep. Never answer or make loud noises to wake him up. As the baby's physical development progresses, good sleeping habits will be established. It is normal for babies to cry before going to bed. Just give them appropriate comfort. Calcium deficiency in babies can cause sleep disturbance and irritability. It is recommended to supplement the baby with cod liver oil and calcium supplements under the guidance of a doctor, and let the baby get more sun exposure and eat more calcium-rich foods.

It is recommended to refer to the following methods to help you cultivate good sleeping habits for your children:

1. The sleeping environment must be quiet and dark, with a comfortable room temperature and not too hot;

2. Strictly follow the sleeping and waking times to strengthen the cultivation of physiological rhythm cycles;

3. Eat enough when lying in bed to avoid hunger. Do not drink too much water when going to bed or at night to avoid disturbing sleep due to the need to urinate.

4. It is best for children to sleep in a small bed alone. Studies have shown that children sleep better when they sleep alone than when they share a bed with their mother. The small bed can be placed next to the large bed for easier care;

5. Let your child learn to fall asleep on his own. Do not hold, rock or feed him with a pacifier.

6. Avoid strenuous activities or excessive play 1 to 2 hours before sleep;

7. Do not sleep too much during the day.

8. If you have difficulty falling asleep, take a warm bath before bed and do baby massage to help you fall asleep.

9. The sleep time is relatively reduced, the sleep time at night is prolonged and the circadian rhythm is formed.

In the above article, we learned that one-year-old babies are restless when they sleep. This is because children often have such a phenomenon when they sleep. As long as we pay attention to not letting children play too excitedly, be careful to pat children gently, and do not cultivate the bad habit of holding children to sleep.
