What to do if your child has bad skin

The skin of the children we see is very delicate and smooth, commonly known as milk skin. Keratosis pilaris (not a terminal illness) is a hereditary skin disease mainly caused by keratinization of the hair follicles and has a lot to do with fat metabolism.

The clinical manifestations are many small bumps and roughness on the limbs. This condition is very common, especially on the outer sides of the upper arms, thighs and calves.

The treatment focuses on moisturizing. You can choose a body lotion with good moisturizing properties or an ointment.

You can exfoliate properly when taking a bath. Do not take a bath too frequently. Keep the bath water temperature at around 40 degrees. Do not use bath water that is too hot.

(1) Control the humidity of the environment. Bacteria are easy to breed in a humid environment, and the ideal humidity is 50%.

(2) Reduce dust in the bedroom and keep the indoor environment clean. Wipe it frequently with a damp cloth and change and wash children's bed sheets, quilt covers, pillowcases and other items frequently. To prevent skin allergies in children.

(4) Dietary health care calls on mothers to breastfeed, as breastfeeding can significantly reduce the occurrence of allergies. Breastfeeding is best continued until six months. Generally, complementary foods are added to babies at around four months old, and can be added only after six months if the baby has skin allergies. If the intestinal absorption is still unstable and the baby is prone to vomiting at six months old, the time for adding complementary foods will be extended. In addition, it is better for infants and young children to have a light diet, with minimal seasonings and pigments.

(5) Moderate exercise: Infants should not be covered too tightly when sleeping. For older children, the amount of outdoor exercise can be increased appropriately. Allergic constitution is congenital. Fortunately, as people age, their physical constitution changes and their immune system gradually matures, the allergic symptoms of most people will improve. Young parents, please pay attention to your children and do your best to reduce the occurrence of allergies.
