Tips for children to sleep in separate rooms

For parents, children's education plays a very important role, because children are the embodiment of their parents in the family outside. Of course, children’s education should develop habits from an early age, so in life, parents should not let their children develop some bad problems or bad habits because of some indulgent behaviors. So let’s take a look at some tips for children to sleep in separate rooms.

6 tips for sleeping in separate rooms with your children

1Start with separate beds but not separate rooms

Children who are used to sleeping in the same bed with their mothers will lack a sense of security and easily become frightened if they are forced to sleep alone in a hurry. The mother can initially help the child gradually get used to and make the transition by having separate beds but not separate rooms.

2. When children move to separate rooms, adults should not lock the door

If conditions permit, the mother can open the door when sleeping to keep the child within her field of vision so that she can observe the child's situation at any time. Even if this is not possible, the mother should not lock the door when sleeping, so that the child can come in at any time when afraid late at night, allowing the child to sleep more peacefully.

3. Put toys and bedding that your child is familiar with on the bed

Letting children sleep alone in a new room for a while may make them feel strange and uneasy. Mothers can place the toys that children usually play with in the room and cover it with the bedding that children usually use. The company of familiar small objects can eliminate the sense of loneliness and help children fall asleep.

4. Accompany your child to sleep and tell him/her stories in his/her room before bedtime

Before the mother goes to bed, it is best for the child to stay in the room, tell the child stories, play games, and whisper to the child, so that the child can feel that even if they sleep in separate rooms, the mother is still the mother who loves them, and they are still the loved child, which will help them to accept the reality of sleeping separately from their mother.

5. Set a fixed sleeping time

Set a regular bedtime for your child so that he or she can develop a regular sleep routine and fall asleep more easily. Remember to urinate before going to bed to prevent your child from waking up late at night and adding to the sense of panic. Don't beat or scold your children before going to bed, and don't let them watch too intense TV or play games. Keep a calm mood, and your children will sleep well.

6. Make a small appointment with your child

Regarding sleeping in separate rooms, the mother can make an agreement with the child in advance. For example, when the child is sick or sad, he can come back to sleep with the mother. This rule should be followed at ordinary times and should not be violated without special circumstances. Otherwise, if the mother violates the rule repeatedly because of soft-heartedness, the separation will become increasingly difficult.
