My child has white spots on his scalp. What causes it?

The reason why children have white spots on their scalp is mostly caused by vitiligo. If not treated in time, it will form a vicious circle, so everyone must pay attention to it. It is best to detect and treat it early.

The phenomenon of white spots on children's scalp is mostly vitiligo. There are many ways to treat vitiligo. To treat vitiligo, you need to understand the content of vitiligo and the related symptoms of vitiligo. I don’t know how much patients know about the symptoms of vitiligo. In short, you need to go to the hospital for examination and correct diagnosis in time. Regarding the cure of vitiligo, please see the introduction below.

The main function of melanocytes is to form melanin. A healthy human skin color is the result of a balance between melanin synthesis and metabolism. When melanocytes are dysfunctional or structurally damaged, melanin is reduced or stopped. If this continues, vitiligo will form.

Tyrosine in melanocytes is also a phenolic compound. It has an alkyl monohydroxy acid side chain at the hydroxyl position. Under the oxidation of tyrosinase, it forms part of the intermediate product, which can damage the cell membrane composed of lipids and lipoproteins, leading to vitiligo.

In the process of melanocyte self-destruction, an immune response may be involved. That is, the destroyed melanocytes become antigens again, and anti-melanocyte antibodies are formed through the immune mechanism, resulting in a vicious cycle. The melanocytes are damaged more and more, becoming more and more serious, and eventually causing vitiligo.

The above is a brief introduction. Vitiligo causes great harm. It is necessary to seek timely treatment, go to the hospital for examination and care in time, and understand some precautions of vitiligo. Vitiligo is difficult to cure, but it is not uncurable. Patients must be mentally prepared for a long-term battle.
