Baby's back rash

Baby's back rash

The baby's body is still in a stage of development, so at this time parents need to pay close attention to their physical condition when taking care of the baby. Although the skin is an important barrier in the human body, babies' skin is generally tender and fragile, and the chance of developing skin diseases is greatly increased. If a parent finds a lot of red rashes on the baby's back when changing clothes, what's going on?

What should I do if my baby has a rash on his back?

A red, raised rash on a baby's body is erythema neonatorum. Distributed on the trunk or limbs, there will be an itchy feeling, which is related to irritation from dry air, bath gel, etc. The baby is soaked in amniotic fluid before birth and is exposed to the air after birth, which causes its skin to become dry and irritated. The fetus is covered with a layer of vernix caseosa, which protects the skin very well and does not need to be removed immediately with bath lotion after birth. Such erythema usually disappears on its own within 3-7 days and does not require medication.

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, has a rough surface, red base, and is accompanied by desquamation and exudation. Mainly caused by allergies. Eczema in young babies is mostly caused by food allergies, especially milk protein allergy. The use of topical medications can only temporarily relieve the skin manifestations of eczema and is not the key to treating eczema. Removing allergens is the key.

How to prevent baby rashes

1. Dry skin First of all, no matter what season it is, since the baby's metabolism is more vigorous than that of ordinary people, it is easy to sweat. At this time, what parents need to do is to keep the baby's skin dry and not let it be soaked in sweat.

2. Add or remove clothes according to the weather changes. Nowadays, many babies are taken care of by their grandmothers, and they are always afraid that the babies will be cold, so they dress them in plenty of clothes. However, they do not know that a heat stroke is more serious for a child than a cold.

3. Cleaning of clothes: Baby's skin is very sensitive, so we must take it seriously and clean it in time, and choose special laundry detergent for manual washing. Please note, do not wash clothes together with adults' clothes, and put them in the sun to dry after washing.

4. Environmental hygiene: Families with babies should pay special attention to environmental hygiene, open windows for ventilation frequently, and change and clean the baby’s clothes frequently.

5. Bath your baby frequently. Our baby needs a bath three times a day in summer and once a day in other seasons. Adding some honeysuckle to the water during bathing can effectively prevent baby eczema.

6. Pay attention to the baby’s diet. The baby is still young, so parents should pay attention to foods that are prone to cause allergies, such as milk, fish, shrimp, and protein.

The baby's delicate skin needs mothers' careful care and must not be careless. Daily hygiene care must be done. We all understand that parents want to give their children everything that is the best, but don't think that expensive things are good. Only things that are suitable for the baby are the best. This is a misunderstanding that many parents easily fall into. Here I would like to remind you, hoping it can help everyone.
