What should I do if my baby has a sore throat?

Babies are very prone to various types of diseases, and sore throat is a common disease in children. Most of them are caused by parents' improper diet or environmental problems. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the specific cause of the baby so that we can better help the baby with treatment and alleviate the baby's painful symptoms. At the same time, it may be caused by disease.

When a child complains of a sore throat, congestion in the pharynx can be seen. The tonsils are red and swollen, with many follicles and even blood spots. Sometimes white filmy discharge may be found. Depending on the virus or bacteria that infects you, there may be different pathological changes (although the pain feels the same). In most cases, you can tell what type of virus or bacteria it is just by looking at it.

Although acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis can be caused by viruses or bacteria, the most common cold is caused by viruses. This type of cold is often accompanied by symptoms such as fever, runny nose, and cough, but may also only present with a sore throat. During the hot summer months, children are more susceptible to infection by a virus that causes small blisters in the throat.

If it is an infant or young child, not only will he or she have a high fever, but he or she may also suffer from serious complications such as dehydration due to sore throat and unwillingness to drink water. When this happens, parents should try to prevent their children from drinking salty and acidic beverages, as these substances can easily irritate the throat and increase the pain. Mothers can give their babies some slightly cooled light tea or milk.

During the 1-2 days when the child's throat is very sore, he or she may not want to eat solid food. At this time, parents should not force them too much, because it will not cause nutritional deficiencies in the child in a short period of time.

Parents now have a preliminary understanding of the situation of sore throats in children. They should pay more attention to their children's living habits. At the same time, if the surrounding environment is heavily polluted, they must keep their children out less to avoid a stronger impact. Letting children drink more water and rest will solve the problem well.
