Feeding and care of newborns

Feeding and care of newborns

Many parents are first-time parents, so they always face various problems in the process of being parents. Because newborns are physically fragile, if you are not careful during the care process, it can easily lead to various problems in their bodies. There are many things to pay attention to in the feeding process of newborns. The following article summarizes the feeding and care methods of newborns for parents and friends.

Newborn care knowledge: feeding

Only if the baby eats well can he grow fast and taller. Newborn feeding is a subject that new mothers must master, which includes knowledge and skills of breastfeeding, artificial feeding, mixed feeding, nutrition, etc., as well as emergency treatment of special situations such as hiccups, spitting up, choking, etc.

Breastfeeding: Breast milk is the most precious gift a mother can give to her newborn baby. How can newborns eat the best quality breast milk? This requires mothers to master the correct posture and steps when breastfeeding, and also pay attention to some dietary tips and taboos during the lactation period. For the health of the newborn, breastfeeding mothers need to pay more attention to their own bodies.

Artificial feeding: Artificial feeding is when the mother is unable to feed the newborn for various reasons, and can use animal milk such as cow's milk, goat's milk, or other milk substitutes to feed the baby. Artificial feeding needs to be appropriate, otherwise it will be detrimental to the baby's development.

Mixed feeding: Mixed feeding is to supplement the newborn with other milk or milk substitutes when it is determined that breast milk is insufficient, so that the newborn is full and maintains his normal growth and development. Although mixed feeding is not as good as breastfeeding, it can ensure to a certain extent that the mother's breasts are stimulated by the newborn's sucking on time, thereby maintaining the normal secretion of milk. Newborns can eat breast milk 2-3 times a day, which still has many benefits for the health of newborns.

Newborn hiccups: New mothers will find that newborns are prone to hiccups soon after birth. This may be due to improper care. For example, incorrect feeding posture, or not burping the newborn after feeding, and other reasons. After the newborn baby finishes feeding, the mother may pat the newborn baby's back so that the baby will not hiccup.

Newborn spitting up: Newborn spitting up is a common phenomenon. If the mother finds that the newborn spit up milk within 1 hour after feeding, and the newborn does not feel very painful, it is a normal spitting up phenomenon, which is mainly caused by improper feeding by the mother. Therefore, mothers should feed their babies scientifically and provide enhanced care.
