Our nails are the only cartilage in the body that can regenerate. The existence of nails can also protect our fingertips from harm. Especially when children are young, their bodies are still in a critical stage of growth and development. The development of nails is also very important. If the body lacks some trace elements, the nails will show some abnormal phenomena, and there will be some white spots. So what is the matter with children's white fingernails? According to traditional Chinese medicine, nails are the remnants of tendons and are external signs of the liver and gallbladder. The liver stores blood and is responsible for excretion. Therefore, observing the nails can measure the strength and weakness of qi and blood in the internal organs, as well as their circulation. The nail bed under the nail plate is covered with terminal capillaries and nerve endings. Information about the body's blood circulation can be obtained by observing changes in the morphology of capillaries on the nail bed and the state of blood flow. According to modern microcirculation theory, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases can be diagnosed from changes in the microvessels on the nails. A person's nails can reflect information about the body's health or disease. Our ancestors discovered through long-term, in-depth and meticulous observation and repeated verification that the nails of the ten fingers of both hands reflect diseases in a way that has both similarities and differences, and that there are certain regularities. Generally speaking, the thumb nail mostly reflects lesions of the head and neck; the index finger nail reflects lesions between the head below the diaphragm and above the diaphragm (including the upper burner, chest, heart, lungs, etc.); the middle finger nail reflects lesions between the diaphragm below the umbilicus and the navel (the middle burner, liver, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, etc.); the ring finger nail reflects lesions between the navel and the two anus (lower burner, kidneys, bladder, intestines, etc.); the little finger nail reflects lesions below the two anus and in the lower limbs (two anus, lower limbs, etc.). Fingernails represent the body as a whole, and some people call them nail embryos ("holograms"). When shaking hands, the parts of the body represented by the nails of the five fingers together form an embryonic baby. In addition to different fingernails representing different body areas and organs, people have also discovered that different areas of each nail also reflect the conditions of different parts of the human body. Each nail is divided into five areas, representing different parts of the body. Due to space limitations, we will not go into details here. Methods of nail diagnosis The person being examined should wash their nails, and if they have dyed nails, the dye should be removed. Under natural light, ask the subject to stretch out his hand naturally, with the palm facing down and placed flat on the table. The examiner carefully observes the nail plate, nail half-lunar arc, nail bed, nail groove fold, etc., paying attention to changes in the color, thickness, bumps, plaques, lines and other shapes and colors of the nails. Deck: Pay attention to its transparency, color, gloss, size, thickness, flatness, bumps, texture, hardness, toughness, brittleness, smoothness or roughness, etc. Half-moon arc: observe its size and color. Nail bed: Press the nail plate with your fingers to examine the shape, patterns, petechiae, color and vascular dynamics of the nail bed through the nail layer. Nail groove (nail fold): pay attention to its shape, color, the dynamics of the venation, whether it is regularly connected to the nail plate, and whether there are any defects. Identify nail color White: Pale nail bed indicates deficiency of Qi and blood. If the skin is white and moist, the disease is mild; if the skin is white, dry, dull and rough, the disease is serious. Complete nail pallor is seen in anemia, malnutrition, cirrhosis, chronic colitis, onychophagia, Raynaud's disease, pulselessness, etc. Partial white nails can be seen in tuberculosis, nephritis, lymphosarcoma, and cancer. Dotted white nails (one or several white spots of varying sizes or white cloud-like or white floc-like spots appear on the nail plate) may be seen in digestive system diseases, malnutrition, zinc deficiency, syphilis, etc. |
