Why is my baby's butt itchy?

Why is my baby's butt itchy?

Normally, the incidence rate of anus itching in babies is very high. In fact, the reason why babies suddenly experience anus itching in their lives is actually a clinical symptom of pinworm disease. Therefore, when parents find that the baby's anus is red, swollen and itchy, finding out the cause of the baby's anus itching as soon as possible is the key step to solving the itching of the child.

Itching around the anus is the main symptom of pinworm infection. It often occurs at night and affects children's sleep. This is caused by the female insect laying eggs near the anus. When your child feels an itchy anus while sleeping at night, you can check his/her anus and find small white nematodes like thin threads crawling around the anus.

Anal itching in young children is mainly caused by fingers contaminated with worm eggs and contaminated food. When the anus itches, children scratch it with their hands, and the worm eggs infect the fingers and nails or the eggs are blown into the air by sweeping the bed and contaminate indoor food. A few children are infected after being inhaled due to the mixing of worm eggs with dust in the air. A few larvae hatch around the anus and then drill into the anus to cause retrograde infection. This disease is often prevalent in collective kindergartens, boarding primary school students and families.

Enterobiasis is characterized by extreme itching in the anus and perineum. These 1 cm long, thread-thin, milky white worms, scientifically known as Pinworms, parasitize in the cecum, colon, and intestines of the human body. The male worms die after mating, while the female worms migrate downward after fertilization. At night, 1-3 hours after a person falls asleep, they crawl to the anal folds and perineum to lay a large number of eggs. In this way, a large number of small white worms can be seen around the anus. Most of them die after laying eggs. The eggs produced develop into eggs with larvae within 6 hours, which are infectious to humans. After being swallowed by humans, they develop into adult worms in the intestines.

What's the matter with the baby's itchy anus? Based on the above introduction to the reasons why the baby's anus itches due to pinworm disease, I believe everyone has some understanding of the causes of the baby's itchy anus. However, parents need to pay attention to that since the baby does not have the ability to express himself independently, parents must be careful and patient when taking care of the baby.
