What to do if your newborn's anus is red

Normally, newborns have delicate skin, so even a slight stimulation may cause certain problems with their skin. Clinically, the red anus of newborns is mostly caused by irritation to the skin of the anus caused by stool during bowel movements. So, what should be done if a newborn's anus becomes red? Parents can take the following measures to deal with it.

Red anus is related to defecation. First, loose stools irritate the skin, so you need to adjust digestion and take some Mommy Love orally. Second, it is related to anal fissures caused by constipation, so you also need to take some Mommy Love to adjust digestion. You can dissolve a tablet of berberine in 500 ml of water to wash the buttocks, and apply some chloramphenicol eye ointment or erythromycin eye ointment to the red and swollen anus.

1. Try not to wrap your baby in diapers. This is the best way to prevent diaper rash. It is best to let your baby's butt dry in the air for a few hours every day to avoid contact between the skin and urine.

2. Change diapers frequently. This is also a way to prevent diaper rash. Newborn babies urinate about every 15 to 20 minutes. Although their urine volume is only one tablespoon, we still recommend changing to a clean diaper every 2 to 3 hours, especially after the baby has a bowel movement, the diaper should be changed immediately.

3. If the skin is severely broken, you can use an infrared desk lamp at home to irradiate the baby's buttocks, but be sure to keep a certain distance and keep the temperature moderate. Expose 1-2 times a day, 15 minutes each time.

4. If it is simple diaper dermatitis (that is, there is no infection), you can apply baby skin care products such as diaper cream and ointment. If you are infected, apply ointments such as Daktarin and Clotrimazole.

5. Do not use soap, laundry detergent or other strong irritants when washing diapers. Diapers with urine on them should be scalded with boiling water and then washed with clean water; diapers with feces can be washed with non-alkaline items such as soap and then placed in the sun to dry.

As mentioned above, the redness of a newborn's anus is generally related to the stimulation of defecation. When parents deal with this condition in their newborns, regular changes of diapers, timely application of medications, avoiding the use of alkaline soaps, and regular cleaning of the anus are all effective measures to deal with the symptoms of redness of a newborn's anus.
