What should I do if my child's buttocks itch?

Generally speaking, when a child feels some kind of discomfort, it is mostly related to the presence of a certain disease. The condition of an itchy buttocks in children is very common in real life. Therefore, when parents notice that their children have symptoms of an itchy buttocks, in order to prevent the children from suffering more pain, parents must seize the time to actively find solutions. So, what should children do if their buttocks itch?

1. Antiparasitic treatment:

1. These imidazole compounds are all effective. For example, a 400 mg dose of albendazole, or enteroworm clearing, has a cure rate of almost 100%, but enterobiasis is prone to self-reinfection, so the treatment should be repeated once 2-4 weeks after treatment.

2. Benzphenicol (trade name: Propidium) 5 mg per kilogram for children, total dose for adults should not exceed 250 mg, take it all at once before bedtime (the tablets should not be crushed). To prevent recurrence, take another dose after an interval of 14 days. It has good efficacy, few side effects, and occasional nausea and vomiting.

3. The adult dose of thioethylpyridine is 250 mg, and the child dose is 5 mg/kg, taken once on a half-empty stomach, which has a significant effect in expelling pinworms.

2. General treatment:

After washing the skin around the anus before going to bed every night, apply 10% zinc oxide ointment, 2% white mercuric ointment, 10% Hefeng ointment or pinworm ointment (containing 30% Stemona extract, 0.2% gentian violet, etc.) on the skin around the anus, which has insecticidal and antipruritic effects.

The life span of pinworms in the human body generally does not exceed two months. If repeated infection can be avoided, they can heal themselves without drug treatment, although drug treatment will produce relatively satisfactory results. However, the therapeutic effect cannot be consolidated, which is related to reinfection, so prevention must be combined. If you can change your underwear and bed sheets every day, you can heal yourself without treatment.

Strengthen health publicity and education, develop good hygiene habits, wash hands before meals and after defecation, do not suck your fingers, clean the anus in the morning before going to bed, organize collective diagnosis and treatment, etc.

From the above, it can be seen that when treating the itchy anus of a child, you can choose between general treatment and deworming treatment. At the same time, parents should also pay attention to letting their children develop a good habit of regular anal cleaning, and take their children to professional institutions for regular examinations.
