How to care for babies born by caesarean section

How to care for babies born by caesarean section

According to the latest data, the caesarean section rate in my country is now close to 50%, and in some hospitals it is even as high as 80%. In fact, babies born by caesarean section may have poorer physical fitness than babies born naturally, and may also have various problems. So, how should we treat babies born by caesarean section? Today, the editor brings you care methods for babies born by caesarean section, and we should take good care of them.

Shake gently. In the first three months after the baby is born, you should hold the baby and rock him gently frequently and moderately to give the baby's brain balance ability the initial exercise.

Certain deficiencies can be compensated through exercise training. After the baby is born, let him turn over, roll, crawl, etc. more often. When he is older, you can also train him to do somersaults, bounce a ball, skip rope, swim, play badminton, etc.

Massage touch. For babies under 1, touch and massage can be started from birth. Wrap him in a bath towel first, and rub the baby gently so that his whole body can be massaged. Or let your baby lie on the bed and gently squeeze his whole body with a pillow.

6 Steps to Massage

Step 1: Take an appropriate amount of baby oil or baby lotion, and use the thumbs of both hands to push outwards from the center of the forehead to create a smile shape.

Step 2: Place your hands on your ribs and slide your right hand up toward your baby's right shoulder, avoiding your baby's nipple to avoid irritation. Then restore and do the same with your left hand on the opposite side.

Step 3: Massage the navel in a clockwise motion; do not massage the area until the umbilical cord scab has fallen off.

Step 4: Let the baby's hands hang down, hold his arms with one hand, and gently squeeze from the upper wrist. While ensuring that the hands are not hurt, use your thumb to massage from the palm to the fingers. Massage your other hand in the same way.

Step 5: Massage the baby's thighs, knees, and calves, gently squeezing from the thighs to the ankles. While ensuring that the ankles are not hurt, use your thumbs to massage from the heels to the toes.

Step 6: Place your hands flat on your back and massage from the neck downwards.

This completes a full massage, and the whole process takes about 15-20 minutes. There are 6 steps in total, including head, chest, abdomen, arms, legs and back.

The above is the care method for babies born by caesarean section that I brought to you. I hope that mothers can understand and learn from it. In fact, we have many other care methods, such as stimulating the baby's skin, providing tactile training for the baby, etc. For babies born by caesarean section, mothers should pay more attention to their emotions.
