Vaginal pain does not seem to be easily associated with children, but vaginal candidiasis is a gynecological disease that is common in adolescents and young girls, which can cause vulvar pain. Its main symptoms include genital itching, genital burning pain during urination, frequent urination, and urgency. Since it often occurs in young children, it may be mistaken by parents as a simple inflammation, so it is easy to miss the time for treatment and make the situation worse. Vaginitis candidiasis is caused by Candida albicans and is a common disease among women. Young girls can also suffer from vaginitis, the youngest being a 5-month-old girl. Patients with candidal vaginitis can be seen in pediatric gynecology outpatient clinics, but they are more common in prepubertal and adolescent girls, and are relatively rare in young girls. The typical manifestations of candidal vaginitis are: there are a lot of white vaginal discharge in the vagina, which is okara-like or curd-like. Young girls are often accompanied by vulvitis, itchy vulva or vagina, and in severe cases, they cannot sit or lie down, sometimes with burning pain in the vulva, urgency and frequency of urination. Younger children who cannot speak will cry and become restless. Some parents do not understand the difference between candidal vaginitis and bacterial vaginitis in young girls. Some people believe that all inflammations can be treated with anti-inflammatory treatments, and they give children antibiotics without authorization. As a result, the condition not only does not improve, but becomes worse. This practice is extremely undesirable. Parents must take their children to the hospital for examination as soon as they discover the situation. After the doctor has examined the secretions, the diagnosis can be confirmed only if hyphae or spores of Candida albicans are found. Stop taking all antibiotics and switch to drugs such as nystatin for treatment. This way the condition will be under control soon. In order to prevent the occurrence of candidal vaginitis, parents must pay attention to the cleanliness of the child's vulva and do the following: 1. Clean the vulva every day; 2. Change underwear every day; 3. After defecation, be sure to wipe from front to back to avoid contamination of the vulva by feces; 4. When parents suffer from candidal vaginitis, washing utensils (bathtubs, towels, bath towels, etc.) should be separated from children to avoid cross infection; 5. Do not use antibiotics indiscriminately when other parts of the child's body are infected, or follow the doctor's advice, and the medication time should not be too long. Avoid bacterial imbalance (if antibiotics are used for a long time, it will cause bacterial flora imbalance); 6. For children with diabetes (changes in urine acidity and alkalinity can also lead to candidal vaginitis), parents should pay attention and actively treat them to reduce the occurrence of candidal vaginitis. |
