Symptoms of mild cerebral palsy in children

Cerebral palsy is a very scary term for many mothers, but it is more than just a term. It means that your child is different from others, and your child has nothing to do with words like smart and clever. Therefore, it is very important for mothers to receive prenatal checkups during pregnancy. If there are any problems with the child, they can still be solved. However, for mothers, they can only take care of the child wholeheartedly after he is born.

Many mothers are more patient with children with mild cerebral palsy, but many family members know very little about the care of children with mild cerebral palsy. However, it is necessary to understand these issues. Because improper care may also aggravate the child's condition.

1. Body weakness and decreased spontaneous movements are symptoms of hypotonia and can be seen in one month. If it lasts for more than 4 months, it may be diagnosed as severe brain damage, mental retardation or muscle system disease;

2. The body becomes stiff. This is a symptom of hypertonia and can be seen in one month. If it lasts for more than 4 months, it is likely to be caused by cerebral palsy;

3. Slow reaction and no reaction when the baby is called are early signs of mental retardation. Generally speaking, slow reaction at 4 months and no reaction when the baby is called at 6 months can be diagnosed as mental retardation.

4. Abnormal head circumference: Head circumference is an objective indicator of brain morphological development. Children with brain damage often have abnormal head circumference.

5. Poor weight gain and inability to breastfeed;

6. Fixed posture is often caused by abnormal muscle tone due to brain damage, such as opisthotonos, frog position, inverted U-shaped posture, etc. It can be seen one month after birth.

Through the introduction of the above content, we can understand that the symptoms of mild cerebral palsy in children are relatively obvious. Generally, there will be symptoms of body weakness in the early stage, and the head can usually clearly show whether the child has intellectual problems. However, generally, more severe cerebral palsy will have manifestations of intellectual disability. Once these symptoms appear, you must seek medical attention in time.
