What is missing when a child sleepwalks?

Many people think that sleepwalking is a scary thing. In fact, sleepwalking is a personal psychological problem. It is not ruled out that it is due to calcium and iron deficiency in the body, and the failure to develop good sleeping habits, which may lead to sleepwalking. To treat sleepwalking, psychological counseling can be provided, and mental catharsis should be vented, the patient's mood should be actively adjusted, and the sleep state should be adjusted.

How to treat sleepwalking in children

Sleepwalking does not rule out zinc and calcium deficiency, because the disease often occurs in childhood and gradually stops with age, indicating that sleepwalking may be related to delayed development of the cerebral cortex. The occurrence of sleepwalking is related to psychosocial factors. For example, disrupted daily life, environmental pressure, anxiety and fear; family discord, poor parent-child relationship, study stress and poor test scores are all related to the occurrence of sleepwalking.

1. Arrange your work and rest time reasonably, develop good sleeping habits, regular daily life, avoid excessive fatigue and high tension, pay attention to going to bed and getting up early, exercise, and regulate your sleep rhythm.

2. Pay attention to the control of the sleeping environment, close the doors and windows before going to bed, and put away all dangerous items to avoid getting lost during a sleepwalking attack, or causing harm to yourself or others.

3. Pay attention to the protective medical system and do not discuss the severity of the disease or the sleepwalking experience in front of the child, so as not to increase the child's tension, anxiety and fear.

Treatment:

1. Aversion therapy. Currently, the most straightforward way to treat sleepwalking is still aversion therapy, but it is implemented in a much gentler way. Through etiological analysis, we already know that sleepwalking is more or less a symbolic compensation of desire. Through aversion therapy, we can wake the sleepwalker from his dream, break the sleepwalker's behavioral pattern, and make this subconscious behavior unable to achieve its purpose, then the sleepwalking will gradually subside. There are two key points in using aversion therapy. One is to try to wake the therapist up when the patient is sleepwalking, and the other is to interrupt the patient's sleepwalking behavior in time.

2. Mental catharsis method. From the previous analysis of the causes, we can know that sleepwalking is caused by mental depression, so to cure the symptoms of sleepwalking, what must be done is to relieve the deep depression in the heart. In fact, it is very simple to find the cause of sleepwalking. In all likelihood, the sleepwalker's sleepwalking behavior represents his innermost thoughts.

3. If the sleepwalking symptoms are severe, you need to consult a specialist and receive necessary medication to assist in the treatment.
