How to treat vulvitis in young girls?

Infant vulvitis is a vaginal disease that occurs in underage girls. The pathogen that causes this disease can be transmitted through some clothes, toilets, bath towels, etc., and sometimes it is also caused by poor genital hygiene or unclean vulva. So how to treat it?

Vaginitis in young girls often coexists with vulvitis. The pathogen can be transmitted through the clothing, bathtub, hands, etc. of sick mothers, childcare workers or kindergarten children; it can also be caused by poor hygiene, unclean vulva, frequent contamination by feces or direct contact with dirt. In addition, injury or scratching of the vulva, especially when there is pinworm infection, can cause inflammation. In addition, it can also be caused by accidentally placing foreign objects in the vagina.

The large amount of purulent secretions may cause pain and itching in the vulva, which may cause the child to cry and scratch the vulva with his hands. During the examination, it was found that the vulva and clitoris were red and swollen, there might be ulcers on the surface, the mucosa of the urethral and vaginal openings were congested and edematous, adhesions were visible on the labia minora, and purulent secretions were flowing out of the vagina. Vaginal secretions can be taken for smear examination or sent for culture to look for pathogens, and attention should be paid to whether there are foreign objects in the vagina.

The treatment principle is to keep the vulva clean and dry, reduce friction, and drip the original medicine corresponding to the pathogen into the vagina. If there is any foreign object, it must be removed. In addition, you can take 0.1 mg of ethinyl stilbestrol orally once a night for 7 to 14 days. Be careful not to take too much ethinyl stilbestrol to avoid causing endometrial hyperplasia, which may cause vaginal bleeding due to shedding after stopping the medication.
