How high is the fever when the baby has convulsions?

We all want our children to grow up healthy and happy, and have a happy childhood. However, on this road to growth, both parents and children need to go through many things. Also because many things grow up with the children, the thing that parents worry about and fear the most is that their children will get sick and have a fever. However, the children are young and their resistance is not very good. Many people say that babies will have convulsions when their fever reaches a certain degree, so at what degree of fever will the baby have convulsions? Let’s take a look together!

Generally, a child's fever of 40 degrees will cause convulsions. Of course, it also depends on the baby's physique. Some children with poor physiques may have convulsions at over 39 degrees, while babies with good physiques may have convulsions at a relatively high temperature of around 40.5 degrees.

If the convulsion lasts more than 4 minutes, you should go to the hospital immediately; if it is less than 4 minutes, you can wait until the child feels better and rests for a while before going to the hospital.

Apply warm water, undress the baby, and rub the whole body with a warm towel. This will dilate the blood vessels in the baby's skin and release body heat. In addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat.

Ventilate frequently. If your home has air conditioning, maintain the room temperature between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. You can place your child in an air-conditioned room or use an electric fan to blow around him to slowly lower his body temperature. This will make your child feel more comfortable. But if the limbs are cold and the patient is shivering violently, it means that the patient needs warmth, so he should be covered with a blanket.

Adjust your baby's position. When your baby has a seizure, have him lie flat on the bed and make sure he doesn't touch any sharp, hard objects. Later, lay your child on his side to allow him to breathe more easily and prevent saliva or vomit from blocking his trachea. Do not try to pry your child's mouth open; a child who is having a seizure due to a fever or other cause is not in danger of biting his tongue.

In this way, we will know how high the fever is when the baby has convulsions. Children are the apple of our eyes. We want them to grow up healthily and live happily. Children's illness will make parents particularly anxious. Of course, the children themselves will also feel uncomfortable, but we cannot get sick for the children, so we can only improve their resistance and physical fitness.
