What is the reason for newborn baby peeling?

The appearance of a newborn not only represents the hope of the whole family, but also allows the elders in the family to shift their attention to the baby. When the babies show the slightest abnormality, the adults will feel worried. Maybe because I am not married yet, I am surprised by certain phenomena happening to babies. For example, I suddenly found that the newborn baby next door had peeling skin. What is going on? At first I thought that the baby's body was lacking certain elements. It was not until the baby's mother introduced it to me that I understood what was going on.

Almost all newborns will experience peeling, whether it is mild dandruff or snake-like peeling. It is normal as long as the baby's diet and sleep are fine. Peeling occurs because the stratum corneum, the top layer of a newborn's skin, is not fully developed and is prone to falling off.

In addition, the basement membrane connecting the epidermis and dermis of newborns is not well developed, which makes the connection between the epidermis and dermis not tight enough, increasing the chance of epidermal shedding. This peeling phenomenon may occur on any part of the body, but it is more obvious on the limbs and behind the ears. Just let it fall off naturally when bathing. There is no need to take special protective measures or forcibly tear off the peeling skin.

What's more, newborns are in warm amniotic fluid before birth. After birth, they are stimulated by the cold and dry air, which causes their skin to shrink and become more prone to peeling. Parents just need to pay attention to the cleaning and care of the newborn's skin to avoid external infection and damage, and there is no need to panic.

From the above introduction, we learned that this is what happens when a newborn baby's skin peels. Fortunately, the baby's mother explained it to me, otherwise it would have been a very funny joke. Baby skin peeling is a normal physiological phenomenon, so when the baby has this condition, do not force the baby to peel off. You can apply moisturizing oil for newborns on the baby's skin to avoid infection due to dryness.
