Symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux in children

The problem of reflux in the feeding tube of young children will have many adverse effects on their healthy growth, so when parents discover this problem, they will naturally be worried and afraid, but they don’t know how to effectively help their baby solve it. So now we want to introduce in detail some symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux in young children, as well as effective solutions.

There are four major symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease in infants, namely vomiting, weight loss, bleeding and lung symptoms, among which vomiting is the most common. According to statistics, almost 2/3 of the sick children experience repeated vomiting soon after birth, which worsens with age. Later on, they even vomit after every feeding. Vomiting is usually effortless and non-projectile, but some children experience projectile vomiting, which is more likely to occur in the supine position and when belching. Some children often spit up milk even when they are not fed.

Repeated spitting up can lead to malnutrition, weight loss or even weight gain. Due to gastroesophageal reflux, gastric acid and other substances corrode the esophageal mucosa, which can also cause esophagitis and even cause damage and bleeding of the esophageal mucosal blood vessels. In addition, during gastroesophageal reflux, if the gastric contents accidentally enter the trachea, it can cause repeated lung infections, seriously endangering the child's health. Therefore, appropriate measures should be taken according to the different degrees of gastroesophageal reflux in infants.

I hope that parents can pay attention to observe and understand their babies during the process of taking care of them to see if they will have such symptoms, because these are symptoms of esophageal reflux, so we need to pay attention and use the correct methods in time to help babies prevent and solve esophageal reflux and treat it quickly.
